Elevated roof

Abstract

Apparatuses for adding coverings such as, but not limited to, roof lines are generally disclosed.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . An apparatus for providing an elevated roof over an existing roof of a structure, the apparatus comprising:
 a substantially vertical member;   an attachment head coupled to a first end of the substantially vertical member, the attachment head configured to facilitate attachment of a thin material along a trailing edge of the elevated roof over the existing roof; and   a base coupled to a second end of the substantially vertical member, the second end being at an opposite end of the substantially vertical member from the first end and the base configured to attach to a component of the structure through the existing roof proximate to a leading edge of the elevated roof.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the component comprises a load bearing component of the structure, the load bearing component configured to support the existing roof. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the substantially vertical member comprises a metal pipe. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment head comprises an attachment head coupled to the first end of the substantially vertical member via a bolt, the bolt configured to facilitate a substantially vertical orientation of the attachment head irrespective of the orientation of the substantially vertical member. 
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein the attachment head comprises two or more flanges having attachment holes. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the base comprises a metal plate having a rectangular type shape. 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 1  further comprising flashing around the substantially vertical member proximate where the base attaches to the component of the structure, the flashing configured to articulate to substantially match the slope of the existing roof. 
     
     
         8 . A system for providing a covering, the system comprising:
 an existing roof, the existing roof disposed over a structure and having an eave; and   an elevated roof disposed on the existing roof, the elevated roof having a leading edge, the leading edge extending beyond the eave of the existing roof to facilitate coverage of a predetermined distance beyond the eave of the existing roof, wherein the elevated roof is disposed on the existing roof via an apparatus comprising:
 a substantially vertical member; 
 an attachment head coupled to a first end of the substantially vertical member, the attachment head configured to facilitate attachment of a thin material along a trailing edge of the elevated roof over the existing roof; and 
 a base coupled to a second end of the substantially vertical member, the second end being at an opposite end of the substantially vertical member from the first end and the base configured to attach to a component of the structure through the existing roof proximate to a leading edge of the elevated roof. 
   
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the substantially vertical member comprises a metal pipe. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the attachment head comprises an attachment head coupled to the first end of the substantially vertical member via a bolt, the bolt configured to facilitate a substantially vertical orientation of the bracket irrespective of the orientation of the substantially vertical member. 
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the attachment head comprises two or more flanges having attachment holes. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the elevated roof comprises a fabric material attached. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 8 , wherein the base comprises a metal plate having a rectangular type shape. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 8  further comprising flashing around the substantially vertical member proximate where the base attaches to the component of the structure, the flashing configured to articulate to substantially match the slope of the existing roof.
