Abstract
An ultra removable booklet with label for application to media is described. The booklet with label includes an ultra removable adhesive layer, a base layer and a booklet. The booklet with label may also include an adhesive layer and a cover layer. The booklet is positioned over the base layer. The ultra removable adhesive layer is attached to the lower surface of the base layer. The release liner is applied to the ultra removable adhesive layer. A process for forming an ultra removable booklet with label for application to media is also described.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An ultra removable booklet with label for high speed application to media of a first type having a recycled content of 40% or less and a second type having a recycled content of 40% or greater, said booklet with label comprising:
an ultra removable adhesive layer having a peel strength in a range of about 25 gms/1″ width to about 60 gms/1″ width for the first type of media, and a peel strength in the range of about 10 gms/1″ width to about 60 gms/1″ width for the second type of media; a base layer; and a booklet; wherein the booklet is positioned over the base layer and the ultra removable adhesive layer is attached to the lower surface of the base layer in order to couple the base layer to the media, and the ultra removable adhesive permits the base layer to adhere to the media but be removable from the media by a user without tearing the media.
2 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 1 , further comprising a cover layer and an adhesive layer, with the adhesive layer applied to a bottom surface of the cover layer and the cover layer positioned over the booklet, wherein the adhesive layer is a permanent adhesive or a removable adhesive and the base layer is made of paper stock.
3 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 2 , wherein the adhesive layer entirely covers the bottom surface of the cover layer or is provided on part of the bottom surface of the cover layer.
4 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 2 , wherein the cover layer is paper or plastic.
5 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 2 , wherein the cover layer is a clear plastic layer and the booklet has indicia positioned on an upper surface thereof that is visible through the clear plastic layer.
6 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 5 , wherein the clear plastic layer is polypropylene and the adhesive is a permanent adhesive.
7 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 2 , wherein the cover layer has a width that is greater than a width of the booklet such that the entire booklet is covered by the cover layer.
8 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 1 , wherein the ultra removable adhesive has a preferred peel strength range and the preferred peel strength range varies based upon the recycled content of the media.
9 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 1 , wherein the media is newsprint.
10 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 1 , wherein for the first type of media, the ultra removable adhesive utilized has a loop tack range of about 140 gms/2″ width to about 300 gms/2″ width, and for the second type of media, the ultra removable adhesive utilized has a loop tack range of about 40 gms/2″ width to about 150 gms/2″ width.
11 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 2 , wherein the booklet layer comprises a sheet of material that is folded at fold lines to form separate but attached sheets at each fold line, with indicia provided on at least some of the separate sheets, and with the booklet having a width that is slightly smaller than the size of the cover layer.
12 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 11 , wherein the cover layer and the base layer have substantially the same shape and size.
13 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 2 , further comprising perforations extending through and around an outer edge of the cover layer.
14 . An ultra removable booklet with label for high speed applications to media comprising:
an ultra removable adhesive layer having a peel strength in a range of about 10 gms/1″ width to about 60 gms/1″ width; a base layer; and a booklet; wherein the booklet is positioned over the base layer and the ultra removable adhesive layer is attached to the lower surface of the base layer, and the ultra removable adhesive permits the base layer to adhere to the media but be removable from the media by a user without tearing the media.
15 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 14 , wherein the base layer is made of paper and the booklet is made of paper.
16 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 14 , further comprising a cover layer made of paper or plastic and an adhesive layer, wherein the cover layer has the adhesive layer applied to a bottom surface thereof and the bottom surface of the cover layer is positioned over the booklet.
17 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 16 , wherein the cover layer is a clear plastic layer.
18 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 17 , further comprising perforations through the cover layer for releasing the cover layer from the base layer.
19 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 16 , wherein the booklet has a smaller width than the base layer and the cover layer has substantially the same size and shape as the base layer such that when the cover layer is positioned on top of the booklet and the base layer, the adhesive layer on the bottom surface of the cover layer couples to at least the base layer.
20 . The ultra removable booklet of claim 14 , wherein the ultra removable adhesive is a microsphere-based adhesive.Cited by (0)
