Abstract

An article ( 101 ) is provided which comprises a body ( 103 ) having an interior volume ( 113 ), and a collapsible inlet ( 105 ) which is in open communication with said interior volume and which is movable from a first position in which it extends from said body, to a second position in which it extends into said internal volume.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 64 . (canceled)

65 . A plurality of exercise articles, each of the plurality of exercise articles comprising:
a body having an interior volume, the body comprising a first and a second panel of material adhered together by stitching near a periphery of the body, the first and the second panels having a generally circular shape; and a collapsible inlet which is in open communication with said interior volume and which is movable from a first position in which it extends from said body, to a second position in which it extends into said internal volume, the inlet comprising one or more sheets of material comprising lateral edges adhered together forming one or more seams; wherein the first and second panels of at least one of the plurality of exercise articles have a larger outer diameter than first and second panels of at least one other of the plurality of exercise articles.

65 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said inlet is collapsible in a direction perpendicular to its longitudinal axis.

66 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said inlet comprises a nylon fabric.

67 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said inlet comprises an elastomer.

68 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said interior volume is filled with a granular material.

69 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said interior volume is filled with a material selected from the group consisting of liquids, sand, and metal particles.

70 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein the first and second panels have essentially a shape selected from the group consisting of ellipsoidal or circular.

71 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said body is provided with an aperture, and wherein one end of said inlet is connected to said body in the vicinity of said aperture.

72 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said inlet is a tube.

73 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said body comprises an elastomer.

74 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said body comprises a laminate of nylon and neoprene.

75 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said body comprises a laminate of nylon and an elastomer.

76 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 65 , wherein said body comprises an elastomeric substrate having a layer of nylon laminated to each side.

77 . An exercise article comprising:
a body having an interior volume and stitching along a periphery of the body; and a collapsible, invertible inlet which is in open communication with said interior volume, the inlet comprising: one or more sheets of material comprising lateral edges adhered together forming one or more seams; and a proximal portion rounded to match a curvature of the periphery of the body proximate the inlet; wherein said inlet is configured such that when the inlet is positioned external from the interior volume, the one or more seams are inverted.

78 . The exercise article of claim 77 , the collapsible, invertible inlet further comprising an extra portion of material folded over prior to stitching the proximal portion to the body.

79 . The exercise article of claim 77 , wherein the proximal portion of the collapsible, invertible inlet is flared.

80 . The exercise article of claim 77 , wherein the proximal portion of the collapsible, invertible inlet is tapered.

81 . A plurality of exercise articles, each of the plurality of exercise articles comprising:
a body having an interior volume, the body comprising a first and a second panel of material adhered together by stitching near a periphery of the body, the stitching following a generally nonlinear pattern of stitching, the first and the second panels having a generally circular shape; and wherein the first and second panels of at least one of the plurality of exercise articles comprises first and second panels having have a larger outer diameter than first and second panels of at least one other of the plurality of exercise articles.

82 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 81 , wherein the generally nonlinear pattern of stitching is a zigzag pattern.

83 . The plurality of exercise articles of claim 81 , wherein the first and second panels have essentially a shape selected from the group consisting of ellipsoidal or circular.
