Abstract

Sorbent for reversible warm CO 2 capture. The sorbent includes activated carbon impregnated with magnesium oxide, wherein the magnesium oxide constitutes at least 5% by weight of the sorbent.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Sorbent for reversible warm CO 2 capture comprising a high surface area support material impregnated with MgO, wherein the MgO constitutes at least 5% by weight of the sorbent.

2 . The sorbent of claim 1 , wherein a soluble magnesium salt is used as a precursor of the MgO.

3 . The sorbent of claim 1 made using an impregnation method.

4 . The sorbent of claim 1 wherein the high surface area support material is activated carbon.

5 . The sorbent of claim 2 wherein the soluble magnesium salt is magnesium nitrate.

6 . The sorbent of claim 3 wherein the impregnation method is an incipient wetness technique.

7 . The sorbent of claim 1 wherein MgO constitutes approximately 15% by weight of the sorbent.
