Windscreen wiper device
Abstract
A windscreen wiper device comprising an elastic, elongated carrier element, and an elongated wiper blade of a flexible material, and a connecting device for an oscillating arm, wherein the oscillating arm is pivotally connected to the connecting device about a pivot axis near one end, with the interposition of a joint part. The windscreen wiper device is provided with first and second retaining means for retaining the connecting device onto said oscillating arm. The first retaining means comprises at least one resilient tongue provided on the joint part engaging in a correspondingly shaped hole provided in the oscillating arm. The second retaining means comprises a least one first stop surface provided on the oscillating arm and at least one second stop surface provided on at least one of the joint part and connecting device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A windscreen wiper device, comprising:
a flexible carrier of spring steel which is curved in a lengthwise direction of said carrier; a wiper blade of flexible material supported by said carrier element and biased by said carrier into a curved shape in a lengthwise direction of said wiper blade; a connecting device secured to said carrier at a location spaced from longitudinally opposite ends of said carrier; a generally U-shaped joint part pivotally connected to said connecting device for relative pivotal movement about a pivot axis transverse to said longitudinal direction of said wiper blade; said joint part including a top wall and two side walls and an open bottom and opposite longitudinal ends each spaced from said pivot axis and being slidable into connection with a wiper arm; said top wall of said joint part including at least one resilient tongue for engaging a hole of the wiper arm and releasable retaining said joint part connected to the wiper arm when received in the hole; and; at least one stop surface on at least one of said connecting device and joint part that is engagable with a corresponding stop feature of the wiper arm to limit reverse sliding movement and disconnection of the joint part from the wiper arm until the stop feature of the wiper arm is tilted upwardly relative to said at least one stop surface to pass by said at least one stop surface.
2 . The windscreen wiper device of claim 1 , including end caps connected to said opposite ends of said carrier.
3 . The windscreen wiper device of claim 1 , wherein said carrier includes a pair of spring band strips received in corresponding side grooves of said wiper blade.
4 . The windscreen wiper device of claim 1 , including a spoiler disposed on said carrier.Cited by (0)
