Abstract

A wireless switch comprises a mechanical switch and a transmitter. The transmitter transmits information in the event that the mechanical switch is switched, wherein the transmitter is powered by the mechanical switch being switched.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A wireless switch, comprising:
a mechanical switch; and a transmitter, wherein the transmitter transmits information in the event that the mechanical switch is switched, wherein the transmitter is powered by the mechanical switch being switched.

2 . A wireless switch as in claim 1 , wherein the mechanical switch comprises a mechanical oscillator.

3 . A wireless switch as in claim 2 , wherein the mechanical switch comprises a mechanical impulse deliverer that delivers a mechanical impulse to the mechanical oscillator.

4 . A wireless switch as in claim 2 , wherein the mechanical oscillator is preloaded.

5 . A wireless switch as in claim 4 , wherein the preloading uses a spring or a flexure mechanism.

6 . A wireless switch as in claim 5 , wherein the mechanical impulse deliverer further loads the spring or the flexure mechanism and causes a release of a proof mass of the mechanical oscillator.

7 . A wireless switch as in claim 6 , wherein a catch or a ratchet catches the proof mass such that the spring or the flexure mechanism is preloaded again after one or more oscillations of the mechanical oscillator.

8 . A wireless switch as in claim 3 , wherein the mechanical impulse deliverer comprises a rotary dial.

9 . A wireless switch as in claim 3 , wherein the mechanical impulse deliverer comprises a lever.

10 . A wireless switch as in claim 3 , wherein the mechanical impulse deliverer comprises a push button.

11 . A wireless switch as in claim 3 , wherein the mechanical impulse deliverer comprises a toggle switch.

12 . A wireless switch as in claim 2 , wherein power is generated as a result of a relative motion between an array of magnets and a conductor because of motion of the mechanical oscillator.

13 . A wireless switch as in claim 12 , wherein the conductor comprises a serpentine conductor.

14 . A wireless switch as in claim 12 , wherein the array of magnets comprises a sheet magnet with alternating poles in one dimension or two dimensions.

15 . A wireless switch as in claim 12 , wherein the motion comprises motion parallel to a first plane of the array of magnets and a second plane of the conductor.

16 . A method of wireless switching comprising:
providing a transmission of information, using a transmitter, in the event that a mechanical switch is switched, wherein the transmission is powered by the mechanical switch being switched.
