Abstract

The invention is directed to a compound of formula (I): and the prodrugs, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates of such compounds and their prodrugs. Such a compound has valuable pharmaceutical properties, in particular the ability to inhibit protein kinases.

         or a corresponding N-oxide, or a prodrug; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of such compound; and the N-oxide and the prodrug, of the salt and solvate. 
       
     
     
         4 . A method of treating rheumatoid arthritis in a patient, comprising:
 administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of formula (I):   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         or a corresponding N-oxide, or a prodrug; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of such compound; and the N-oxide and the prodrug, of the salt and solvate. 
       
     
     
         5 . A method of treating joint inflammation in a patient comprising:
 administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of formula (I):   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         or a corresponding N-oxide, or a prodrug; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of such compound; and the N-oxide and the prodrug, of the salt and solvate in combination with methotrexate. 
       
     
     
         6 . A method of treating rheumatoid arthritis in a patient comprising:
 administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of formula (I):   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         or a corresponding N-oxide, or a prodrug; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of such compound; and the N-oxide and the prodrug, of the salt and solvate in combination with methotrexate. 
       
     
     
         7 . A method of treating a tumor in a patient, comprising:
 administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of formula (I):   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         or a corresponding N-oxide, or a prodrug; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of such compound; and the N-oxide and the prodrug, of the salt and solvate. 
       
     
     
         8 . A method of treating a mantle cell lymphoma in a patient, comprising: administering to a patient in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of formula (I): 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         or a corresponding N-oxide, or a prodrug; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate of such compound; and the N-oxide and the prodrug, of the salt and solvate.
