Adjustable support bar

Abstract

The present invention is an adjustable support bar that includes a pair of wall anchor brackets with a pair of apertures, a plurality of bracket fasteners that secure the pair of wall anchor brackets to a support surface, a pair of extension tubes each extended into the pair of wall anchor brackets and a u-shaped support bar grasped by a user to accommodate and support the user. The adjustable support bar also includes a base extension tube contained within the elongated base bar of the u-shaped support bar, the base extension tube allows the elongated base bar to be extended. The adjustable support bar can be threaded or utilizes a plurality of apertures and a plurality of securing pins to secure the adjustable support bar.

1 . An adjustable support bar, comprising:
 a pair of wall anchor brackets secured on a support surface, the pair of wall anchor brackets each includes a front surface, a pair of sides and a pair of apertures, the pair of apertures are disposed on the front surface;   a plurality of bracket fasteners that secure the pair of wall anchor brackets to the support surface;   a pair of extension tubes each with a first end, the pair of extension tubes extends into the pair of wall anchor brackets;   a u-shaped support bar grasped by a user to accommodate and support the user, the u-shaped support bar includes an elongated base bar, the elongated base bar with a first perpendicular extending end and a second perpendicular extending end, the first perpendicular extending end and the second perpendicular extending end are hollow and contain the pair of extension tubes that extend from the first perpendicular extending end and the second perpendicular extending end;   a base extension tube contained within the elongated base bar of the u-shaped support bar, the base extension tube allows the elongated base bar to be extended;   a first set of apertures, a second set of apertures, a third set of apertures and a fourth set of apertures, the first set of apertures is disposed on the pair of sides of the pair of wall anchor brackets, the second set of apertures are disposed on the first ends of the pair of extension tubes, the second set of apertures correspond in position with the first set of apertures that are disposed on the pair of sides of the pair of wall anchor brackets, the first set of apertures and the second set of apertures removably receive a first securing pin to removably secure the first ends of the pair of extension tubes to the pair of wall anchor brackets, the third set of apertures are disposed on the pair of extension tubes and correspond in position with the fourth set of apertures that are disposed on the first perpendicular extending end and the second perpendicular extending end of the u-shaped support bar, the third set of apertures and the fourth set of apertures removably receive a second securing pin, the second securing pin to removably secure the pair of extension tubes to the first perpendicular extending end and the second perpendicular extending end of the u-shaped support bar; and   a fifth set of apertures disposed on the base extension tube, the fifth set of apertures correspond in position with a sixth set of apertures, the sixth set of apertures are disposed on the elongated base bar of the u-shaped support bar, the fifth set of apertures and the sixth set of apertures removably receive a third securing pin to removably secure the base extension tube to the elongated base bar.   
     
     
         2 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the support surface is a wall. 
     
     
         3 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the bracket fasteners are a selected one of a pair of screws and a pair of bolts. 
     
     
         4 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the pair of extension tubes are each approximately 12 inches in length. 
     
     
         5 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the pair of extension tubes extend outward up to approximately 3 inches. 
     
     
         6 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the user is a selected one of an elderly person and a person with limited mobility. 
     
     
         7 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the u-shaped support bar is made of brushed metal. 
     
     
         8 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 7 , wherein the u-shaped support bar is made of brushed stainless steel. 
     
     
         9 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the u-shaped support bar is made of durable plastic. 
     
     
         10 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 1 , wherein the base extension tube is approximately 8 inches in length. 
     
     
         11 . An adjustable support bar, comprising:
 a pair of threaded anchor brackets secured on a support surface, the pair of threaded anchor brackets each includes a front surface, each of the front surfaces include a threaded aperture;   a plurality of bracket fasteners that secure the pair of wall anchor brackets to the support surface;   a threaded u-shaped support bar that includes a threaded base bar, the threaded base bar with a first threaded perpendicular extending end and a second threaded perpendicular extending end; and   a pair of threaded end extensions and a threaded base extension, the pair of threaded end extensions is removably screwed into the first threaded perpendicular extending end and the second threaded perpendicular extending end of the threaded u-shaped support bar, the pair of threaded end extensions are removably screwed into each threaded aperture to removably secure the adjustable support bar into the support surface, the threaded base bar is extended with the threaded base extension that is screwed into a middle portion of the threaded base bar.   
     
     
         12 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the support surface is a wall. 
     
     
         13 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the bracket fasteners is a pair of screws. 
     
     
         14 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the bracket fasteners is a pair of bolts. 
     
     
         15 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the pair of threaded end extensions is approximately 3 inches in length. 
     
     
         16 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the threaded base extension tube is approximately 8 inches in length. 
     
     
         17 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the user is a selected one of an elderly person and a person with limited mobility. 
     
     
         18 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the threaded u-shaped support bar is made of brushed metal. 
     
     
         19 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 18 , wherein the threaded u-shaped support bar is made of brushed stainless steel. 
     
     
         20 . The adjustable support bar according to  claim 11 , wherein the threaded u-shaped support bar is made of durable plastic.
