Abstract

Systems and methods for facilitating advertising for an advertiser are disclosed. In one example, a method comprises collecting retargeting information for the advertiser, the retargeting information comprising user-behavior information, assigning multiple identifiers for multiple publisher systems to be selectively authorized by the advertiser as retargeting channels in an advertising campaign, receiving a selection of an authorization of at least one publisher system from the advertiser, assigning an advertiser identifier to identify the advertiser, and identifying an advertisement, corresponding to the advertiser identifier, to be served to the user via at least one publisher system, conditioned on the at least one publisher system being an authorized publisher system.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A computer-implemented method of advertising for an advertiser via a user computer and multiple publisher systems, comprising:
 providing retargeting information to the advertiser for storage on the user computer, wherein the retargeting information comprises:
 multiple identifiers for multiple publisher systems authorized for retargeting; and
 an advertiser identifier;
   receiving from a visited publisher system user behavior information retrieved from the user computer, wherein the user behavior information includes the advertiser identifier; and transmitting an advertisement corresponding to the advertiser identifier to the visited publisher system for presentation via the user computer only if the visited publisher system is one of the authorized publisher systems.

         2 . A computer-implemented method of facilitating advertising for an advertiser via a user interface and multiple publisher systems, the method comprising:
 collecting retargeting information for the advertiser, the retargeting information comprising user-behavior information;   assigning multiple identifiers for multiple publisher systems to be selectively authorized by the advertiser as retargeting channels in an advertising campaign;   receiving a selection of an authorization of at least one publisher system from the advertiser;
 assigning an advertiser identifier to identify the advertiser; and
   identifying an advertisement, corresponding to the advertiser identifier, to be served to the user via at least one publisher system, conditioned on the at least one publisher system being an authorized publisher system.

         3 . A computer-implemented method of facilitating advertising according to claim 2 , wherein the retargeting information comprises computer code configured to request the multiple publisher system identifiers from a remote retargeting system.

         4 . A computer-implemented method of facilitating advertising according to claim 2 , further comprising comparing an identifier for a user-visited publisher system to the identifiers for the authorized publisher systems.

         5 . A computer-implemented method of facilitating advertising according to claim 2 , further comprising selecting the advertisement corresponding to the advertiser identifier according to a number of times the advertisement has been presented to the user interface via the multiple publisher systems.

         6 . A computer-implemented method of facilitating advertising according to claim 2 , wherein the multiple publisher systems comprise at least two unrelated ad networks.

         7 . A computer system for facilitating advertising for an advertiser via a user interface and multiple publisher systems, wherein the computer system comprises:
 a memory; and   a processor configured to:   access the memory;   collect retargeting information for the advertiser, the retargeting information comprising user-behavior information;   assign multiple identifiers for multiple publisher systems to be selectively authorized by the advertiser as retargeting channels in an advertising campaign;   receive a selection of an authorization of at least one publisher system from the advertiser;
 assign an advertiser identifier to identify the advertiser; and
   identify an advertisement, corresponding to the advertiser identifier, to be served to the user via at least one publisher system, conditioned on the at least one publisher system being an authorized publisher system.

         8 . A computer system according to claim 7 , wherein the memory stores:
 the identifiers for the multiple publisher systems; the advertisement; and the processor comprises a server coupled to the memory, wherein the server is to: provide the retargeting information to the advertiser; receive the user behavior information; and transmit the advertisement to the authorized publisher system.

         9 . A computer system according to claim 7 , wherein the retargeting information comprises computer code configured to request the multiple publisher system identifiers from the memory.

         10 . A computer system according to claim 7 , wherein the processor is further to compare an identifier for a user-visited publisher system to the identifiers for the authorized publisher systems.

         11 . A computer system according to claim 7 , wherein the processor is further to select the advertisement corresponding to the advertiser identifier according to a number of times the advertisement has been presented to the user interface via the multiple publisher systems.

         12 . A computer system according to claim 7 , wherein the multiple publisher systems comprise at least two unrelated ad networks.

         13 . A non-transitory medium storing instructions for causing a computer to implement a process for facilitating advertising for an advertiser via a user interface and multiple publisher systems, the process comprising:
 collecting retargeting information for the advertiser, the retargeting information comprising user-behavior information;   assigning multiple identifiers for multiple publisher systems to be selectively authorized by the advertiser as retargeting channels in an advertising campaign;   receiving a selection of an authorization of at least one publisher system from the advertiser;
 assigning an advertiser identifier to identify the advertiser; and
   identifying an advertisement, corresponding to the advertiser identifier, to be served to the user via at least one publisher system, conditioned on the at least one publisher system being an authorized publisher system.

         14 . A non-transitory medium according to claim 13 , wherein the retargeting information comprises computer code configured to request the multiple publisher system identifiers from a remote retargeting system.

         15 . A non-transitory medium according to claim 13 , further comprising comparing an identifier for a user-visited publisher system to the identifiers for the authorized publisher systems.

         16 . A non-transitory medium according to claim 13 , further comprising selecting the advertisement corresponding to the advertiser identifier according to a number of times the advertisement has been presented to the user interface via the multiple publisher systems.

         17 . A non-transitory medium according to claim 13 , wherein the multiple publisher systems comprise at least two unrelated ad networks.
