Resource management using environments
Abstract
Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to receive time-based reservation requests for predefined resource environments comprising resource types that include hardware, software, and data, among others. Additional activities may include detecting a conflict between at least one of the resource types in a first one of the predefined resource environments and at least one of the resource types in a second one of the predefined resource environments, and resolving the conflict in favor of the first one of the predefined resource environments by reserving additional resource elements in a cloud computing architecture and/or reserving a less capable version of the second one of the predefined resource environments. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . (canceled)
2 . A system comprising:
a reception module configured to receive a plurality of time-based reservation requests to reserve respective resource environments, each one of the plurality of reservation requests including a test data requirement indicating respective test data that is to be processed by a corresponding application during test execution of the application in the corresponding resource environment; and a conflict processor configured
to detect a reservation conflict between two or more of the plurality of reservation requests, the reservation conflict being based at least in part on a test data conflict which comprises a conflict between the respective test data requirements of the two or more reservation requests, and
to resolve the reservation conflict based on predefined conflict resolution criteria.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the test data comprises pre-populated sample test data to be used for testing the respective application in the corresponding resource environment.
4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the test data comprises user-survey data to be used in testing of the respective application in the corresponding resource environment.
5 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the test data is configured for transactional processing by the corresponding application during testing thereof in the respective resource environment.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the test data comprises transactional data representative of multiple test transactions to be executed by the corresponding application during testing thereof in the respective resource environment.
7 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the test data requirement comprises requested size information that indicates one or more size parameters of the test data reserved by the respective reservation request.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the one or more size parameters of the test data comprises a range of acceptable sizes for the test data.
9 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the one or more size parameters are expressed as a total number of unique users represented by the test data, each unique user having respective user data for processing by the corresponding application during testing thereof in the respective resource environment.
10 . A method comprising:
receiving a plurality of time-based reservation requests to reserve respective resource environments, each one of the plurality of reservation requests including a test data requirement indicating respective test data that is to be processed by a corresponding application during test execution of the application in the corresponding resource environment; and detecting a reservation conflict between two or more of the plurality of reservation requests, the reservation conflict being based at least in part on a test data conflict which comprises a conflict between the respective test data requirements of the two or more reservation requests, and resolving the reservation conflict based on predefined conflict resolution criteria.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the test data comprises pre-populated sample test data to be used for testing the respective application in the corresponding resource environment.
12 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the test data comprises user-survey data to be used in testing of the respective application in the corresponding resource environment.
13 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the test data is configured for transactional processing by the corresponding application during testing thereof in the respective resource environment.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the test data comprises transactional data representative of multiple test transactions to be executed by the corresponding application during testing thereof in the respective resource environment.
15 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the test data requirement comprises requested size information that indicates one or more size parameters of the test data reserved by the respective reservation request.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the one or more size parameters of the test data comprises a range of acceptable sizes for the test data.
17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the one or more size parameters are expressed as a total number of unique users represented by the test data, each unique user having respective user data for processing by the corresponding application during testing thereof in the respective resource environment.
18 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium that includes instructions for causing a machine, when the instructions are executed by machine, to perform operations comprising:
receiving a plurality of time-based reservation requests to reserve respective resource environments, each one of the plurality of reservation requests including a test data requirement indicating respective test data that is to be processed by a corresponding application during test execution of the application in the corresponding resource environment; and detecting a reservation conflict between two or more of the plurality of reservation requests, the reservation conflict being based at least in part on a test data conflict which comprises a conflict between the respective test data requirements of the two or more reservation requests, and resolving the reservation conflict based on predefined conflict resolution criteria.Cited by (0)
