Abstract
An anti-slip overshoe has a contoured outer band and first gripping pad and second gripping pad disposed interior to the contoured outer band for enhanced traction. A web structure connects the first gripping pad and second gripping pad to the contoured outer band. A plurality of gripping devices is attached to the first gripping pad and second gripping pad for enhanced traction on natural surfaces. The gripping devices includes a body, button extending from a first end of the body, plurality of spikes disposed around a perimeter of the body, and central spike extending from a second end of the body. A neck is disposed around the body between the button and spikes. The spikes include a traction arm, plurality of edges formed along the traction arm, and concave surface between a first edge and second edge along the traction arm.

a contoured outer band; a first gripping pad disposed interior to the contoured outer band; a web structure connecting the first gripping pad to the contoured outer band; and a plurality of gripping devices attached to the first gripping pad, the gripping devices including spikes disposed around a perimeter of the gripping devices for traction.
2 . The anti-slip overshoe of claim 1 , wherein the gripping devices further include:
a body; a button extending from a first end of the body, wherein the plurality of spikes extend from a second end of the body; and a neck disposed around the body between the button and spikes.
3 . The anti-slip overshoe of claim 2 , wherein the flexible gripping devices further include a central spike extending from the second end of the body.
4 . The anti-slip overshoe of claim 1 , wherein the spikes include:
a traction arm; and a plurality of edges formed along the traction arm.
5 . The anti-slip overshoe of claim 4 , wherein the traction arm further includes a concave surface formed between a first edge and second edge along the traction arm.
6 . The anti-slip overshoe of claim 1 , wherein the web structure includes:
a first connecting arm formed between the contoured outer band and first gripping pad; and a second connecting arm formed between the contoured outer band and first connecting arm.
7 . The anti-slip overshoe of claim 1 , further including a second gripping pad disposed interior to the contoured outer band.
8 . A gripping device for an anti-slip overshoe, comprising:
a body; a button extending from a first end of the body; a plurality of spikes extending from a second end of the body around a perimeter of the body; and a neck disposed around the body between the button and spikes.
9 . The gripping device of claim 8 , wherein the spikes include:
a traction arm; and a plurality of edges formed along the traction arm.
10 . The gripping device of claim 9 , wherein the traction arm further includes a concave surface formed between a first edge and second edge along the traction arm.
11 . The gripping device of claim 9 , wherein the traction arm further includes an angle ranging from 20 to 60 degrees.
12 . The gripping device of claim 8 , further including a central spike extending from the body.
13 . The gripping device of claim 8 , wherein the button is detachable from the body.
14 . A method of making an anti-slip overshoe, comprising:
providing a contoured outer band; disposing a first gripping pad interior to the contoured outer band; providing a web structure connecting the first gripping pad to the contoured outer band; and attaching a plurality of gripping devices to the first gripping pad, the gripping devices including spikes disposed around a perimeter of the gripping devices for traction.
15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein attaching the gripping devices further includes:
providing a body; and forming a button extending from a first end of the body and the plurality of spikes extending from a second end of the body with a neck disposed around the body between the button and spikes.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the gripping devices further include forming a central spike extending from the second end of the body.
17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the spikes include:
providing a traction arm; and forming a plurality of edges along the traction arm.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the traction arm further includes forming a concave surface between a first edge and second edge along the traction arm.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the traction arm further includes an angle ranging from 20 to 60 degrees.
20 . The method of claim 14 , wherein providing the web structure includes:
forming a first connecting arm between the contoured outer band and first gripping pad; and forming a second connecting arm between the contoured outer band and first connecting arm.
21 . The method of claim 14 , further including disposing a second gripping pad interior to the contoured outer band.
22 . A method of making a gripping device for an anti-slip overshoe, comprising:
providing a body; forming a button extending from a first end of the body; forming a plurality of spikes extending from a second end of the body around a perimeter of the body; and disposing a neck around the body between the button and spikes.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein forming the spikes include:
providing a traction arm; and forming a plurality of edges along the traction arm.
24 . The method of claim 23 , wherein providing the traction arm further includes forming a concave surface between a first edge and second edge along the traction arm.
