Abstract

A system and method of processing a request including improving usage and/or performance of resources is disclosed. Information relating to a user request may be provided to one or more resources which process the information and provide a result. A result and/or other information may be provided to a human assistant or guide who may process information to produce a result and/or review a result(s). Information provided by a guide may be processed and provided to a resource, which may improve the performance of a resource. A resource(s) and/or a guide(s) may be selected and/or provided with activities based on ratings and/or rankings associated with a request, which may optimize usage of system resources. Information obtained may be provided for various purposes.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A computer implemented method for improving resource utilization, comprising:
receiving a request; submitting the request to a resource which performs a conversion of content indicated by the request; selecting a human assistant when the conversion requires a review by the human assistant; and providing a response to a source of the request based on an output of the conversion.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
selecting the human assistant when a ranking assigned to the review is a highest ranking for tasks which the human assistant is eligible to perform.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
selecting the human assistant based on a number of times that human assistants have reviewed outputs of the resource for the conversion.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
selecting the human assistant based on a number of times the review by the human assistant has been required by requests submitted by a source of the request.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
presenting information of the request and the output to the human assistant when the conversion does not require the review by the human assistant; and determining a rating of the human assistant for the conversion based on the review.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
presenting information of the request and the output to the human assistant when the conversion does not require the review by the human assistant; comparing the output of the resource to a result obtained from another resource; and delivering the review and the output of the review to the other resource when an action of the human assistant indicates that the result does not match the output.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
obtaining demographic or geographic information of a source of the request; and selecting the human assistant based on a number of requests associated with the information have been submitted to the resource.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
submitting the request to the resource based on a number of human assistants registered to perform the conversion performed by the resource.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the resource is a highest ranking automated resource based on previous reviews by human assistants.

         10 . A system, comprising:
a search service device receiving a request, submitting the request to a resource which performs a conversion of content indicated by the request, selecting a human assistant when the conversion requires a review by the human assistant, and providing a response to a source of the request based on an output of the conversion; a resource device receiving information of the request; and a guide device providing the review when the conversion requires the review by the human assistant.

11 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising:
a user device submitting the query and receiving the response.

12 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the review is performed subsequent to the response being provided to a user submitting the query.

13 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing therein a program for causing a computer to execute an operation including optimizing usage of providers, comprising:
receiving a request; submitting the request to a resource which performs a conversion of content indicated by the request; selecting a human assistant when the conversion requires a review by the human assistant; and providing a response to a source of the request based on an output of the conversion.

14 . The computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the operation further comprises:
identifying the resource based on selections of resources by human assistants registered to perform the conversion.

15 . The computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the operation further comprises:
identifying the resource based on a structured query associated with the request by the human assistant.

16 . The computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the operation further comprises:
selecting the human assistant when the human assistant has achieved a proficiency criterion based on a number of correct reviews.

17 . The computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the operation further comprises:
obtaining metadata associated with the output; and providing the response based on a search by a human searcher selected based on the metadata.

18 . The computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the operation further comprises:
obtaining metadata associated with the output; and providing the response based on a search performed by submitting the request to a search engine determined based on a ranking of the search engine for the metadata.

19 . The computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the operation further comprises:
selecting the human assistant when the output does not match a result obtained from at least one other resource which performs the conversion.

20 . The computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the operation further comprises:
providing the output to human assistants; and selecting the resource based on a number of times the output is accepted by the human assistants compared to another resource.
