Abstract

Methods, devices, and systems for implementing lighting infrastructure application frameworks and networks and associated revenue models. In one embodiment, a computing device may receive a request from a first device to access data from a lighting infrastructure application framework, and the data from the lighting infrastructure application framework may include data from lighting node platform(s). In an embodiment, the computing device may perform authorizations related to providing access to data, as well as transmit responses to requests for data. Costs and revenues associated with applications may also be performed based on usage of platforms, sensors, and controllers within a lighting infrastructure. In an embodiment, software, applications, and other instructions may be transmitted by a computing device in response to receiving requests. In another embodiment, a computing device may process received data (e.g., sensor data from lighting node platforms) to detect trends or events relevant to applications.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method for a computing device to distribute software related to a lighting infrastructure application framework, comprising:
receiving, at the computing device, the software, wherein the software is to be executed by at least one of a plurality of lighting node platform devices within the lighting infrastructure application framework, wherein the software is at least one of a script, an application, an app, and a routine; storing the received software in relation to a provider of the software, wherein the provider is one of an application provider and a lighting infrastructure owner; and transmitting the software to destination devices in response to receiving a request.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, at the computing device, an update to the software, wherein the update is at least one of a binary update, a firmware update, and configuration data; and transmitting the update in response to receiving the update.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request is from a one of a third-party device that is not affiliated with the lighting infrastructure owner, a gateway platform device, and one of the plurality of lighting node platform devices.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the destination devices are at least one of the plurality of lighting node platform devices.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
calculating at least one of a fee and a revenue in response to transmitting the software; and transmitting a message indicating a value of the fee or the revenue, wherein the message is transmitted to one of the application provider and the lighting infrastructure owner.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the at least one of the fee and the revenue is based on data transmitted in association with the at least one of the plurality of lighting node platform devices executing the software.

7 . A method for a computing device to process data received in relation to a lighting infrastructure application framework, comprising:
receiving, at the computing device, data reported by a plurality of lighting node platform devices within the lighting infrastructure application framework; processing the received data by at least one of analyzing or aggregating the received data; detecting an occurrence of at least one of a plurality of predefined events based on the processing of the received data; identifying a trend within the received data based on the processing of the received data; and predicting a future occurrence of at least one of the plurality of predefined events based on the processing of the data.

8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising transmitting messages reporting an analysis of the received data.

9 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising transmitting commands based on at least one of the received data and an analysis of the received data, wherein the commands include at least one of software, scripts, and configuration data.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the commands include operating instructions for sensors associated with the plurality of lighting node platform devices.

11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the received data reported by the plurality of lighting node platform devices within the lighting infrastructure application framework includes earthquake sensor data.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein detecting the occurrence of the at least one of the plurality of predefined events based on the processing of the received data comprises detecting an earthquake based on the processing of the earthquake sensor data.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein predicting the future occurrence of the at least one of the plurality of predefined events based on the processing of the data comprises predicting an earthquake based on the processing of the earthquake sensor data.

14 . A method for a computing device to provide a data market associated with a lighting infrastructure applications framework, comprising:
receiving, at the computing device, data related to a lighting infrastructure that includes at least one lighting node platform device; calculating a value and bidding conditions of the received data based on value factors; receiving one or more bid messages for the received data; determining whether the calculated bidding conditions have been met based on the received one or more bid messages; and transmitting the received data to one or more recipient devices in response to determining the calculated bidding conditions have been met.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the value factors include at least one of a type of data, a collection area from which the received data comes, how often the received data is reported, and a demand for the received data.

16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein calculating the value and the bidding conditions of the received data based on the value factors comprises valuing data from an urban source higher than data from a rural source.

17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the bidding conditions include one or more of a threshold bid amount, a number of bidding parties that may receive the received data, and a time period during which bids may be received for the received data.

18 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising broadcasting an availability of the received data for potential recipients.

19 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising transmitting a message to the one or more recipient devices indicating a fee based on one of the calculated value of the received data or a winning bid from the received one or more bid messages.

20 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the received one or more bid messages are indicate bids for carbon credits associated with the lighting infrastructure applications framework.
