Method for preventing flashback in a burner having at least one swirl generator
Abstract
A method for preventing flashback in a burner having swirl generator with a central fuel distributor element and an outer wall enclosing the central fuel distributor element and bounding an axial flow channel for combustion air is provided. A separating wall encloses the central fuel distributor element radially within the outer wall, wherein the axial flow channel is divided into a radially inner channel segment and a radially outer segment by the separating wall. A tangential flow component in the radially outer channel segment is provided to the combustion air flowing through the axial flow channel, wherein, during combustion, the combustion air passes the radially inner channel segment without a tangential flow component.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for preventing flashback in a burner, which comprises at least one swirl generator with a central fuel distributor element and an outer wall enclosing the central fuel distributor element and bounding an axial flow channel for combustion air, the method comprising:
positioning a separating wall enclosing the central fuel distributor element radially within the outer wall, dividing the axial flow channel into a radially inner channel segment and a radially outer segment by the separating wall, providing a tangential flow component in the radially outer channel segment to the combustion air flowing through the axial flow channel, wherein, during combustion, the combustion air passes the radially inner channel segment without a tangential flow component.
2 . The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein fuel is supplied to the combustion air flowing through the flow channel.
3 . The method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein fuel is supplied to the combustion air flowing through the flow channel perpendicular to a flow direction of the combustion air flowing through the flow channel.
4 . The method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein fuel is supplied to the combustion air flowing through the flow channel perpendicular to a radial direction of the combustion air flowing through the flow channel.
5 . The method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein fuel is supplied to the combustion air flowing through the flow channel counter to the flow direction of the combustion air flowing through the flow channel.
6 . The method as claimed in claim 2 , wherein fuel is supplied to the combustion air flowing through the flow channel parallel to the flow direction of the combustion air flowing through the flow channel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
