Abstract

Methods and systems for providing electronic notifications are described. A server is configured to serve an interface, such as a Web page, to a terminal that requests from a user a first set of user contacts to be used to provide notifications to the user by a telephonic notification system in response to a notification process initiated by an organization associated with the user. The interface further requests a first set of priorities corresponding to the first set of user contacts, wherein the notification system will attempt to provide notifications to the first set user contracts in an order based at least in part on the first set of priorities. A database is configured to store the first set of user contacts and the first set of priorities. A voice interface circuit is configured to transmit a voice notification to at least one of the first set of user contacts.

21 . A computer-implemented method of initiating conference calls via one or more electronic communication channels, the method comprising:
receiving an instruction to initiate a conference call to be attended by a plurality of participants; identifying a conference call type of the received conference call instruction from among at least two different conference call types; and based on a result of the conference call type determination, inviting the plurality of recipients via one or more contact paths in a set of contact paths associated with the determined conference call type.

22 . The method as defined in claim 21 , wherein the type of conference call is either an emergency conference or a non-emergency conference.

23 . A computer-implemented method of initiating meetings via one or more electronic communication channels, the method comprising:
receiving an instruction to initiate a meeting to be attended by a plurality of participants; identifying a meeting type of the received meeting instruction from among at least two different meeting types; and based on a result of the meeting type determination, inviting the plurality of recipients via one or more contact paths in a set of contact paths associated with the determined meeting type.

24 . The method as defined in claim 23 , wherein a type of meeting is either an emergency meeting or a non-emergency meeting.
