System and method for cyclic recognition-primed notifications and responsive situational awareness in an advertising display network
Abstract
A system and method for enabling and improving user engagement through responsive iterative and cyclic interaction using mobile devices, for the creation of, response to, or alteration of, notifications on public display screens. The invention includes computer hardware and software for implementing, by delivering notification content, notification type, and means of notification, an iterative or cyclic response by users responsive to sensed or observed real world events and computer system events. The inventions also includes systems for synthesizing user interaction originating on groups of mobile devices in order to, through responsive cyclic iterative interaction, create, respond to, or alter, at least two separate and separately sourced simultaneously occurring notifications on a public display screen or screens. The invention further relates to a system and method on computer hardware and software system display or notification means for enabling and improving user situational awareness, cognition, and response, by recognizing and delivering, for a response option, cyclic, iterative responses through to notifications on a display.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile application distribution system is further configured to distribute mobile applications that include a response module configured to display the category of result vector associated with said first notification data.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the notification generation module is programmed to select said first notification data based on a plurality of personal notification preferences that may be received from a plurality of detected mobile networked devices.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the mobile application distribution system is further configured to distribute mobile applications that include a response module configured to display a category of result vector associated with said first notification data and wherein the notification generation module is further programmed to select said first notification data based on a plurality of result vector selections received from a plurality of detected mobile networked devices.
5 . The system of claim 4 wherein the notification module is configured to generate a plurality of notifications, each of said plurality of notifications configured to simultaneously display on said video display.
6 . The system of claim 1 wherein the notification generation module is further configured to send at least one notification to at least one of said plurality of detected mobile networked devices.
7 . The system of claim 1 wherein the at least one microprocessor comprises a plurality of microprocessors, at least one of said plurality of microprocessors located in a first location local to the video display and at least one of said plurality of microprocessors located at a second location not local to the video display, wherein the notification generation module is present on a microprocessor located at the second location not local to the video display.
8 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a local input receiver unit configured to receive input data from a user viewing the display screen from the spectator area.
9 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising an input receiver unit configured to receive input data from a user viewing the display screen from a second location external to the video display.
10 . The system of claim 1 further comprising a decision support system configured to generate a decision support system event, said decision support system event selected from the group consisting of an action option and meta data.
11 . The system of claim 1 further comprising a rules system governing the transmission of notifications to the plurality of mobile networked devices to which said mobile application has been distributed.
