Methods and systems for providing a savings goal
Abstract
Example embodiments describe a method and a system to provide mobile payments on a secondary linked account. In example embodiments, a secondary account is linked to a primary account. One or more parameters from a primary account holder of the primary account is received that define limitations on access and use of funds in the secondary account by a secondary account holder. Based on the one or more parameters, a determination that the secondary account holder is allowed to make mobile payments is made. An identifier of a mobile device and a PIN from the secondary account holder is received to activate the mobile device to make the mobile payments in response to the determining that the secondary account holder is allowed to make the mobile payments.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
linking, by a hardware processor, a secondary account to a primary account; receiving one or more parameters from a primary account holder of the primary account that define limitations on access and use of funds in the secondary account by a secondary account holder; determining, based on the one or more parameters, that the secondary account holder is allowed to make mobile payments; and in response to the determining that the secondary account holder is allowed to make the mobile payments, receiving an identifier of a mobile device and a PIN from the secondary account holder to activate the mobile device to make the mobile payments.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the identifier of the mobile device is a phone number of the mobile device.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:
the secondary account comprises a dependent source portion and an independent source portion; and the method further comprises enabling the primary account holder to define the limitations on access and use of the funds in the dependent portion of the secondary account while allowing the secondary account holder to control the funds in the independent source portion.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the identifier of the mobile device and the PIN occurs on a user interface used to administer the secondary account that is presented to the secondary account holder.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a user interface to the secondary account holder that indicates the limitations on access and use of the funds in the secondary account.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the limitations indicated on the user interface includes whether the secondary account holder is allowed to shop online.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the limitations indicated on the user interface includes whether the secondary account holder is allowed to make mobile payments.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving of the PIN comprises receiving a secondary account holder selected PIN and a confirmation of the secondary account holder selected PIN.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising activating the secondary account to conduct the mobile payments in response to receiving the identifier of the mobile device and the PIN.
10 . A machine-readable medium having no transitory signals and storing instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
linking a secondary account to a primary account; receiving one or more parameters from a primary account holder of the primary account that define limitations on access and use of funds in the secondary account by a secondary account holder; determining, based on the one or more parameters, that the secondary account holder is allowed to make mobile payments; and in response to the determining that the secondary account holder is allowed to make the mobile payments, receiving an identifier of a mobile device and a PIN from the secondary account holder to activate the mobile device to make the mobile payments.
11 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the identifier of the mobile device is a phone number of the mobile device.
12 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein:
the secondary account comprises a dependent source portion and an independent source portion; and the operations further comprise enabling the primary account holder to define the limitations on access and use of the funds in the dependent portion of the secondary account while allowing the secondary account holder to control the funds in the independent source portion.
13 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the receiving of the identifier of the mobile device and the PIN occurs on a user interface used to administer the secondary account that is presented to the secondary account holder.
14 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise providing a user interface to the secondary account holder that indicates the limitations on access and use of the funds in the secondary account.
15 . The machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the limitations indicated on the user interface includes whether the secondary account holder is allowed to shop online.
16 . The machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the limitations indicated on the user interface includes whether the secondary account holder is allowed to make mobile payments.
17 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the receiving of the PIN comprises receiving a secondary account holder selected PIN and a confirmation of the secondary account holder selected PIN.
18 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise activating the secondary account to conduct the mobile payments in response to receiving the identifier of the mobile device and the PIN.
19 . A system comprising:
one or more hardware processors; and a memory comprising a plurality of modules that when implemented by at least one of the one or more hardware processors causes operations comprising:
linking a secondary account to a primary account;
receiving one or more parameters from a primary account holder of the primary account that define limitations on access and use of funds in the secondary account by a secondary account holder;
determining, based on the one or more parameters, that the secondary account holder is allowed to make mobile payments; and
in response to the determining that the secondary account holder is allowed to make the mobile payments, receiving an identifier of a mobile device and a PIN from the secondary account holder to activate the mobile device to make the mobile payments.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the operations further comprise activating the secondary account to conduct the mobile payments in response to receiving the identifier of the mobile device and the PIN.Cited by (0)
