Abstract

The present invention teaches a new apparatus and process for maximizing the storage space in a warehouse while minimizing aisle space. The invention resides in an apparatus comprising a track assembly and a wheeled platform assembly, whereby a wheeled platform and load (pallet+boxes or crates of goods) are placed on a track assembly and roiled deeper into storage, while leaving room for another load to be placed in front. The invention also teaches various improvements on the design that maximize durability accessibility, and safety.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An apparatus for positioning pallets comprising:
at least one wheeled platform assembly with at least one body piece with a top surface and bottom surface wherein the top surface is adapted to be coupled with a pallet, skid, or deck riser and the bottom surface is attached to at least one wheel or roller; and a track assembly with a front end and a deep end, with at least one cross slat, with at least one rut, wherein the rut(s) are adapted to receive the wheel(s) from the wheeled platform assembly.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the wheeled platform assembly is attached to at least four wheels; and wherein the track assembly with a front end and a deep end, with at least one cross slat, has two parallel ruts attached to each side of said slat with coupling members wherein the ruts may receive the wheels from the wheeled platform assembly.

3 . The apparatus of claim 2 wherein the track assembly has notches or removable members within the ruts that can be added or removed to steady the wheeled platform assembly(s) in place.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein at least one wheel is operably attached to a motor.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the track assembly has a friction member attached to the bottom.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the track assembly has at least one hard lining member placed within the rut(s) to prevent wear and tear to the track assembly.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the track assembly is extendable.

8 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the track assembly has a slight incline in the rut such that a loaded wheeled platform assembly will naturally roll to the front of the track assembly.

9 . The apparatus of claim 1 with an additional anchor member adapted to being coupled to said track assembly, wherein said anchor member may be fixed to a static surface such as a floor or a set of shelves.

10 . An apparatus for positioning pallets comprising:
a wheeled platform assembly with at least one body piece with a top and bottom wherein the top is adapted to be coupled with a pallet or skid and the bottom is attached to at least one wheel or roller; and at least one track assembly with at least one cross slat, with at least one rail, wherein the rail(s) are adapted to receive the wheel(s) from the wheeled platform assembly.

11 . The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the wheel(s) or roller(s) are beveled.

12 . The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the wheeled platform assembly is attached to at least four wheels; and wherein the track assembly with a front end and a deep end, with at least one cross slat, has two parallel rails attached to each side of said slat with coupling members wherein the rails may receive the wheels from the wheeled platform assembly.

13 . The apparatus of claim 12 wherein the track assembly has notches or removable members within the rails that can be added or removed to lock the wheeled platform assembly(s) in place.

14 . The apparatus of claim 10 wherein at least one wheel is operably attached to a motor.

15 . The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the track assembly has a friction member attached to the bottom.

16 . The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the track assembly has a slight incline in the rail such that a loaded wheeled platform assembly will naturally roll to the front of the track assembly.

17 . The apparatus of claim 10 with an additional anchor member adapted to being coupled to said track assembly, wherein said anchor member may be fixed to a static surface such as a floor or a set of shelves.

18 . The apparatus of claim 10 wherein the track assembly may be extended by adding additional railing.
