Abstract
The present disclosure is directed, in part, to a wipe comprising a nonwoven substrate comprising one or more layers of fibers. A plurality of the fibers each comprise a plurality of fibrils extending outwardly from a surface of the fibers. The plurality of fibrils comprise a lipid ester.

1 . A wipe comprising:
a nonwoven substrate comprising a layer of fibers, wherein a plurality of the fibers each comprise a plurality of fibrils extending outwardly from a surface of the fibers, and wherein the plurality of fibrils comprise a lipid ester.
2 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the wipe is a cleaning substrate.
3 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the wipe comprises a composition.
4 . The wipe of claim 3 , wherein the composition comprises water, and wherein the weight of the water is 150% greater than the dry weight of the wipe.
5 . The wipe of claim 3 , wherein the composition comprises a fragrance, a soap, a makeup, a skin care composition, a lotion, a polish, or a cleaning composition, and wherein the weight of the composition is at least 30% of the overall weight of the wipe.
6 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the fibrils comprise a composition.
7 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the fibrils have a first color, wherein the fibers have a second color in non-fibrils areas thereof, and wherein the first color is different than the second color.

The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of fibers are formed from a composition comprising a polyolefin and the lipid ester, wherein the composition comprises 11% to 35% of the lipid ester, by weight of the composition, and wherein the lipid ester has a melting point in the range of 50° C. to 100° C.
9 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the average length of the fibrils from the surfaces of the fibers to free ends of the fibrils is in the range of about 0.5 μm to about 20 μm, and wherein the average hydraulic diameter of the fibrils is in the range of about 100 nm to about 800 nm.
10 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the layer of fibers comprises spunbond fibers, meltblown fibers, or fine fibers.
11 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein at least some of the fibrils extend radially outwardly from the surface of the fibers in a central longitudinal third of at least some of the fibers.
12 . The wipe of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of the fibrils grow out of the surface of the fibers post-nonwoven substrate formation under ambient conditions.
13 . A wipe comprising:
a nonwoven substrate comprising a layer of fibers, wherein the layer of fibers comprises a plurality of bonds, each bond comprising a bond area, and wherein a plurality of fibrils extend outwardly from a surface of at least one of the bond areas; and a composition on the nonwoven substrate.
14 . The wipe of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of fibrils comprise a lipid ester.
15 . The wipe of claim 13 , wherein the composition comprises water, and wherein the nonwoven substrate is at least 150% water by weight of the nonwoven substrate.
16 . The wipe of claim 13 , wherein a plurality of the fibers comprise fibrils extending radially outwardly from a surface of the fibers.
17 . The wipe of claim 13 , wherein the fibrils comprise the composition.
18 . The wipe of claim 13 , wherein the nonwoven substrate comprises a second layer of fibers, wherein the layer of fibers comprises spunbond fibers, and wherein the second layer of fibers comprises meltblown fibers or fine fibers.
19 . A wipe comprising:
a nonwoven substrate comprising a layer of fibers, wherein a plurality of the fibers comprise fibrils extending outwardly therefrom only after a time period, and wherein the time period is greater than about 24 hours post-nonwoven substrate formation under ambient conditions.
20 . The wipe of claim 19 , wherein the time period is greater than about 60 hours post-nonwoven substrate formation under ambient conditions, and wherein the nonwoven substrate comprises a composition.
21 . The wipe of claim 19 , wherein the plurality of fibers comprising fibrils are free of droplets of a lipid ester.
22 . A wipe comprising:
a nonwoven substrate comprising a layer of fibers, wherein a plurality of the fibers each comprise a plurality of fibrils extending outwardly from a surface of the fibers, and wherein the plurality of fibrils comprise a lipid ester.
23 . The wipe of claim 22 , wherein the fibrils have a first color, wherein the fibers have a second color in non-fibrils areas thereof, and wherein the first color is different than the second color.
24 . The wipe of claim 22 or 23 , wherein the plurality of fibers are formed from a composition comprising a polyolefin and the lipid ester, wherein the composition comprises 11% to 35% of the lipid ester, by weight of the composition, and wherein the lipid ester has a melting point in the range of 50° C. to 100° C.
25 . The wipe of any of claims 22 - 24 , wherein the average length of the fibrils from the surfaces of the fibers to free ends of the fibrils is in the range of 0.5 μm to 20 μm.
26 . The wipe any of claims 22 - 25 , wherein the average hydraulic diameter of the fibrils is in the range of 100 nm to 800 nm.
27 . The wipe any of claims 22 - 26 , wherein the layer of fibers comprises spunbond fibers, meltblown fibers, or fine fibers.
28 . The wipe any of claims 22 - 27 , wherein at least some of the fibrils extend radially outwardly from the surface of the fibers in a central longitudinal third of at least some of the fibers.
29 . The wipe any of claims 22 - 28 , wherein the plurality of fibrils grow out of the surface of the fibers post-nonwoven substrate formation under ambient conditions.
30 . The wipe of any of claims 22 - 29 , wherein the layer of fibers comprises a plurality of bonds, each bond comprising a bond area, and wherein at least some of the plurality of fibrils extend outwardly from a surface of at least one of the bond areas.
31 . The wipe of any of claims 22 - 30 , wherein the plurality of fibers comprising fibrils are free of droplets of the lipid ester.
