Web Based Communication of Information With Reconfigurable Format
Abstract
Internet/SCHA system of using an interactive device such as an e-mail pager to obtain information from a publicly available source, such as the Internet. The e-mail pager may send information in its native format to a service that acts as an intermediary. That service takes the information and uses it to assemble a request to the actual information source, such as a Web page being accessed. If a web page is being accessed, the request is in HTML, and may include personal logon information. The response from the web page is also in HTML, and this information is received by the service, and salient information is taken from the HTML file. The information is reformatted, e.g. according to a template, into the e-mail pager's native format, and sent to the pager. Another embodiment describes opening multiple pages, and assembling their content into a single web page.

2 . A method as in claim 1 , wherein said new display position information includes at least a new static location information for said static object, and at least a new variable location information for said variable object, and said using forms said objects at locations indicated in said new display position information.
3 . A method as in claim 2 , wherein said obtaining new display position information includes using a graphical interface, allowing selecting at least one of the objects within the webpage, and relocating said at least one of said objects to a different location than the location information obtained in said first information received over the channel, and storing information indicative of said different location as at least part of said new display position information.
4 . A method as in claim 1 , further comprising second receiving information indicative of a second webpage over the information receiving channel, said second information indicative of a different webpage at a different webpage address than the first information received in said first receiving, and from a different website address than the webpage received in said first receiving, wherein said new display position location information includes information for at least one object from said first webpage, and at least one object from said second webpage both on a same screen, and said producing an output signal comprises displaying a composite web page formed from said objects from said first and second webpages, at said locations.
5 . A method as in claim 4 , further comprising using a computer to open said first webpage in the background and obtain said first information therefrom, and to open said second webpage in the background and obtain said second information therefrom, and to take parts but not all of said first and second information to display said composite webpage.
6 . A method as in claim 1 , wherein said analyzing further determines drawing parts, and animation parts, said location information includes information of locations of said drawing parts and animation parts, and said new display position information includes new information for locations of said drawing parts and animation parts.
7 . A method as in claim 1 , wherein said information indicative of the webpage is in HTML format and said information receiving channel is an Internet connection.
8 . A web page reading device comprising:
a information receiving part receiving first information indicative of a first webpage over an information receiving channel; a web page processing part, analyzing said first information indicative of the first webpage to determine different objects within the first webpage, said analyzing determining, within said first information, at least one static object having a static value, at least one variable object having a variable value and first location information indicative of locations on the screen where said at least one static object and said at least one variable object should be displayed, and determining new display position information, wherein said new display position information includes second location information for at least one of said objects, wherein the second location information is different than the first location information contained within said first information indicative of the first webpage; a display part, using said objects and said new display position information to form a new display layout, and to produce an output that displays the new display layout, with said objects at locations indicated by said new display position information.
9 . A device as in claim 8 , wherein said new display position location information includes at least both of a new static location information for said static object, and at least a new variable location information for said variable object, and said displaying displays said objects at locations indicated in said new display position information.
10 . A device as in claim 9 , wherein said web page processing part produces a graphical interface, allowing selecting at least one of the objects within the webpage, and relocating said object to a different location on the webpage than the location information obtained in said first information received over the channel, and storing information indicative of said different location as said new display position information.
11 . A device as in claim 8 , wherein said information receiving part further receives second information indicative of a second webpage over the information receiving channel, said second information indicative of a different webpage at a different webpage address than the first information;
wherein said web page processing part includes information for at least one object from said first webpage, and at least one object from said second webpage both to be located on a same display screen, and produces a composite web page formed from said objects from said first and second webpages, at said locations.
12 . A device as in claim 11 , wherein said web page processing part further comprises a computer part to open said first webpage in the background, and obtain said first information therefrom, and to open said second webpage in the background and obtain said second information therefrom, and to take parts but not all of said first and second information to display said composite webpage.
13 . A method as in claim 8 , wherein said web page processing part further determines drawing parts, and animation parts, said location information includes information of locations of said drawing parts and animation parts, and said new display position information includes new information for locations of said drawing parts and animation parts.
14 . A method as in claim 8 , wherein said web page processing part allows displaying said first information, and also displaying a toolbar that allows changing said positions.
15 . A method, comprising:
receiving first information indicative of a first webpage over an information receiving channel; receiving second information indicative of a second webpage over the information receiving channel, said second information indicative of a different webpage from a different webpage address than the first information, and from a different website address than the first webpage; analyzing said first information indicative of the first webpage to determine at least one object within the first webpage and first location information indicative of a location on a display where said at least one object should be displayed, analyzing said second information indicative of the second webpage to determine at least one object within the second webpage, and second location information indicative of locations on the display where said at least one object should be displayed; obtaining new display position information, wherein said new display position information includes new location information for said object from said first webpage and new location information for said object from said second webpage, where said new location information for said object from said first webpage is different than said first location information, and said new location information for said object from said second webpage display position information is different than said second location information, but both said new location information for said object from said first webpage and said new location information for said object from said second webpage are on a same display page; using all of 1) said at least one object from said first information, and 2) said at least one object from said second information and 3) said new location information for said object from said first webpage and 4) said new location information for said object from said second webpage, to form a new display layout; and producing a composite website output that is indicative of the new display layout, with said objects at locations indicated by said new location information.
