Abstract

A system and method for using biometrics with a digital wallet is provided. A biometric input is received from a user operating a mobile device having a wallet application. In response to the biometric input satisfying a requirement, access is provided to functions of a value exchange system via the wallet application operating on the mobile device of the user.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method comprising:
; and receiving a biometric input from a user operating a mobile device having a wallet application; and in response to the biometric input satisfying a requirement, providing, by a hardware processor, access to functions of a value exchange system via the wallet application operating on the mobile device of the user.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
activating the wallet application on the mobile device of the user; and requesting the biometric input from the user in response to the activating of the wallet application.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises activating the wallet application on the mobile device of the user in response to the biometric input satisfying the security requirement.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises providing access to values linked to an account of the user at the value exchange system.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the values comprise monetary values and non-monetary values.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the non-monetary values comprises one or more selections from the group consisting of a voucher, points, a discount, a coupon, a certificate, frequent flyer miles, a credit, a debit, and barter points.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises:
receiving a value exchange request for a transaction from the user; and processing the value exchange request for the transaction.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises synchronizing information stored at the value exchange system with the mobile device of the user.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the biometric input is received via a biometric device associated with the mobile device of the user.

10 . A machine-readable medium having no transitory signals and storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
receiving a biometric input from a user operating a mobile device having a wallet application; and in response to the biometric input satisfying a requirement, providing access to functions of a value exchange system via the wallet application operating on the mobile device of the user.

11 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise:
activating the wallet application on the mobile device of the user; and requesting the biometric input from the user in response to the activating of the wallet application.

12 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises activating the wallet application on the mobile device of the user in response to the biometric input satisfying the security requirement.

13 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises providing access to values linked to an account of the user at the value exchange system.

14 . The machine-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the values comprise monetary values and non-monetary values.

15 . The machine-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the non-monetary values comprises one or more selections from the group consisting of a voucher, points, a discount, a coupon, a certificate, frequent flyer miles, a credit, a debit, and barter points.

16 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises:
receiving a value exchange request for a transaction from the user; and processing the value exchange request for the transaction.

17 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the providing access to functions of the value exchange system comprises synchronizing information stored at the value exchange system with the mobile device of the user.

18 . The machine-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the biometric input is received via a biometric device associated with the mobile device of the user.

         19 . A value exchange system comprising:
one or more servers configured to:
receive a biometric input from a user operating a mobile device having a wallet application; and
in response to the biometric input satisfying a requirement, provide access to functions of the value exchange system via the wallet application operating on the mobile device of the user.

20 . The value exchange system of claim 19 , wherein the access provided comprises access to values linked to an account of the user at the value exchange system, the values comprising monetary values and non-monetary values.
