Abstract

A system and method for facilitating a value exchange transaction are provided. A request is received from a wallet application on a mobile device of a first user. The request indicates a transfer of a value to a second user. The value is associated with a source selected from a plurality of sources associated with a user account of the first user. The plurality of values comprises monetary values and non-monetary values. A token from the wallet application is received. The transfer of the value is validated using the token.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method comprising:
receiving a request from a wallet application on a mobile device of a first user, the request indicating a transfer of a value to a second user, the value associated with a source selected from a plurality of sources associated with a user account of the first user, the plurality of values comprising monetary values and non-monetary values; receiving a token from the wallet application; and validating, using a hardware processor, the transfer of the value using the token.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising causing the transfer of the value indicated in the request in response to the token validating the transfer of the value.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising updating an amount of the value associated with the selected source to reflect the transfer of the value to the second user.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising rejecting the transfer of the value indicated in the request in response to the token not validating the transfer of the value.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the token is exchanged between the mobile device of the first user and a device of the second user.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the token authenticates at least one of the first user or the second user.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the non-monetary values comprises one or more selections from the group consisting of a voucher, points, a discount, a coupon, a certificate, frequent flyer miles, a credit, a debit, and barter points.

8 . A machine-readable medium having no transitory signals and storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
receiving a request from a wallet application on a mobile device of a first user, the request indicating a transfer of a value to a second user, the value associated with a source selected from a plurality of sources associated with a user account of the first user, the plurality of values comprising monetary values and non-monetary values; receiving a token from the wallet application; and validating the transfer of the value using the token.

9 . The machine-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise causing the transfer of the value indicated in the request in response to the token validating the transfer of the value.

10 . The machine-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the operations further comprise
updating an amount of the value associated with the selected source to reflect the transfer of the value to the second user.

11 . The machine-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise rejecting the transfer of the value indicated in the request in response to the token not validating the transfer of the value.

12 . The machine-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the token is exchanged between the mobile device of the first user and a device of the second user.

13 . The machine-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the token authenticates at least one of the first user or the second user.

14 . The machine-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the non-monetary values comprises one or more selections from the group consisting of a voucher, points, a discount, a coupon, a certificate, frequent flyer miles, a credit, a debit, and barter points.

         15 . A system comprising:
one or more servers configured to: receive a request from a wallet application on a mobile device of a first user, the request indicating a transfer of a value to a second user, the value associated with a source selected from a plurality of sources associated with a user account of the first user, the plurality of values comprising monetary values and non-monetary values; receive a token from the wallet application; and validate the transfer of the value using the token.

16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to cause the transfer of the value indicated in the request in response to the token validating the transfer of the value.

17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to
update an amount of the value associated with the selected source to reflect the transfer of the value to the second user.

18 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the one or more servers are further configured to reject the transfer of the value indicated in the request in response to the token not validating the request.

19 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the token is exchanged between the mobile device of the first user and a device of the second user.

20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the token authenticates at least one of the first user or the second user.
