Abstract
A method of organizing mobile content in a network environment is provided that includes providing pieces of mobile content on a database, selecting one of the pieces of mobile content, receiving a descriptor to be associated with the selected piece of mobile content from user activity, and associating the descriptor to the selected piece of mobile content.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of organizing mobile content in a network environment, the method comprising:
providing pieces of mobile content on a database; selecting one of the pieces of mobile content; receiving a descriptor to be associated with the selected piece of mobile content from user activity; and associating the descriptor to the selected piece of mobile content.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of providing the mobile content further comprises providing electronic data selected from a group consisting of at least one of wallpapers, photos, music, videos, greetings, messages, news, games, ring tones, screen savers, graphics and electronic data downloaded from a global network.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of receiving the descriptor includes explicitly receiving input from the users.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein receiving the input from the users includes receiving at least one of a tag and a rating.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the step of associating the descriptor further comprises categorizing and classifying the mobile content using collaborative filtering techniques.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the step of associating the descriptor includes using explicit collaborative filtering techniques.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein receiving explicit input from users for the mobile content includes receiving a proposed tag for wallpaper.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of receiving the descriptor further comprises performing data mining on information related to the activities of the users to determine correlations between descriptors and mobile content.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the step of associating the descriptor further comprises categorizing and classifying the mobile content using collaborative filtering techniques.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of receiving a descriptor includes user activity selected from at least one of user to content interaction, user to application interaction, content to content correlations, and user to user interaction.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of associating the descriptor further comprises filtering words to remove inappropriate, irrelevant, and user-redundant descriptors.
12 . A system for organizing mobile content on a network, the system comprising:
a mobile content server, the server having a mobile content database associated with the mobile content server, the mobile content database having mobile content and server software stored thereon, the server software being configured to receive and fulfill calls from a client device; and a community recommendation engine, the community recommendation engine being configured to provide at least one descriptor associated with the mobile content, the descriptor being based on users' activities on the network, and the community recommendation engine being configured to classify and organize the descriptor with a collaborative filtering technique.
13 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising a contact and input module configured to receive information from the users and to convey the information to at least one of the mobile content database and the community recommendation engine.
14 . The system of claim 12 , further comprising a data-mining module configured to find correlations in data residing on the database.
15 . The system of claim 12 wherein the community recommendation engine is configured to determine which mobile content to present to the users of the network based on the users' activities.
16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the community recommendation engine is configured to determine how the mobile content is presented to the users of the network based on the users' activities.
17 . A method of organizing mobile content in a network, the method comprising:
providing at least one piece of visual mobile content on a database; receiving tags from users corresponding to the visual mobile content to define the visual mobile content; organizing and categorizing the tags using collaborative filtering techniques; and applying selected tags to the visual mobile content.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the step of providing at least one piece of visual mobile content includes providing at least one wallpaper.
19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the step of receiving tags from users includes receiving tag input in response to prompts displayed on a user's device.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the step of receiving tags from users includes receiving tag input in response to prompts displayed on the user's device while an associated piece of visual mobile content is displayed.Cited by (0)
