Abstract

The present invention relates to the diagnosis and treatment of stress urinary incontinence. In one embodiment, the diagnosis and treatment involves the use of a positional feedback catheter. Positional sensors may be embedded in the catheter to provide real-time tracking the position and movement of the catheter.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A device comprising a catheter having at least one sensor capable of providing positional feedback. 
     
     
         2 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein said catheter is a Foley catheter. 
     
     
         3 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein said sensor provides positional feedback based on data selected from the group consisting of magnetic, electromagnetic, microelectromechanical, radio frequency, ultrasound and video. 
     
     
         4 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein said sensor comprises an accelerometer. 
     
     
         5 . The device of  claim 1 , wherein said sensor comprises a gyroscope.
