Abstract

The invention relates to a steering wheel assembly for a motor vehicle, having a steering wheel for steering the motor vehicle, wherein the steering wheel comprises a steering wheel rim, by means of which it can be actuated, and having a display device arranged on the steering wheel rim for displaying driving information, wherein the display device is fastened to the steering wheel rim by means of fastening means, wherein the steering wheel rim comprises a base body, that is at least partly surrounded by a material, that is particularly softer than the material of the base body, and wherein the display device is fastened to the base body by means of the fastening means, and wherein the fastening means comprise at least one fastening region formed on the base body.

         62 . A system for dissipating heat from a steering wheel, comprising:
 a steering wheel rim;   one or more heat dissipating bands; and   one or more light emitting diodes that generate heat and are connected to the steering wheel rim, the generated heat being dissipated by the one or more heat dissipating bands.   
     
     
         63 . The system of  claim 62 , further comprising:
 a control unit that controls the one or more light emitting diodes.   
     
     
         64 . The system of  claim 63 , wherein the control unit is connected to the steering wheel at a distance from the light emitting diodes. 
     
     
         65 . The system of  claim 63 , further including a circuit support structure that supports a display, the light emitting diodes, and the control unit. 
     
     
         66 . The system of  claim 63 , wherein the control unit connects with one or more sensors on a vehicle and controls the light emitting diodes based on information from the sensors. 
     
     
         67 . The system of  claim 63 , wherein the control unit controls one or more of a brightness, color, or contrast of the light emitting diodes based on an amount of ambient light. 
     
     
         68 . The system of  claim 62 , wherein the light emitting diodes include at least two single-color light emitting diodes, the at least two single-color light emitting diodes having different colors. 
     
     
         69 . The system of  claim 62 , wherein the light emitting diodes include multicolored light emitting diodes. 
     
     
         70 . The system of  claim 62 , further comprising a heater for heating the steering wheel. 
     
     
         71 . The system of  claim 62 , further including a reflector that covers the light emitting diodes to provide a bar of light. 
     
     
         72 . The system of  claim 62 , further including a prism bar that covers the light emitting diodes to provide a bar of light. 
     
     
         73 . The system of  claim 62 , further including one or more light guiding films that cover the light emitting diodes to provide a bar of light. 
     
     
         74 . The system of  claim 62 , further including a display integrated into the steering wheel. 
     
     
         75 . The system of  claim 62 , further including a driver circuit for driving output of the light-emitting diodes. 
     
     
         76 . A steering wheel, comprising:
 one or more light emitting diodes;   one or more heat dissipating bands that dissipate heat generated by the one or more light emitting diodes; and   a control unit that controls the light emitting diodes to convey information regarding operation of a vehicle.   
     
     
         77 . The steering wheel of  claim 76 , further including at least one of a reflector, a prism bar, or a light guiding film that covers the light emitting diodes to provide a bar of light. 
     
     
         78 . The steering wheel of  claim 76 , wherein the control unit is located on the steering wheel at a distance from the one or more light emitting diodes to limit heat buildup near a display. 
     
     
         79 . A steering wheel, comprising:
 a display;   one or more light emitting diodes;   one or more heat dissipating bands that dissipate heat generated by the one or more light emitting diodes; and   a control unit that controls the light emitting diodes and the display to convey information regarding operation of a vehicle.   
     
     
         80 . The steering wheel of  claim 79 , further including at least one of a reflector, a prism bar, or a light guiding film that covers the light emitting diodes to provide a bar of light. 
     
     
         81 . The steering wheel of  claim 79 , wherein the control unit is located on the steering wheel at a distance from the one or more light emitting diodes to limit heat buildup near the display.
