Abstract
A method of removing blemishes from an image. The method receives a selection of an area of an image, divides the area into at least two interior sub-areas, and replaces the colors of each sub-area independently from each other sub-area.

34 . A method comprising:
providing a display area for displaying an image; and providing a blemish removal tool for removing blemishes from the image by:
receiving an identification of an area of said image,
detecting a set of edges entering the area in order to remove blemishes from said area while maintaining a separation of regions, and
removing said blemishes based on said detection of said set of edges.
35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the display area is provided as a part of a graphical user interface of a device.
36 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the blemish removal tool comprises an adjustable control for specifying the size of the area of said image that is to be identified for blemish removal.
37 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the blemish removal tool is for a user to paint said area of said image to define said area for blemish removal.
38 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the blemish removal tool comprises a set of adjustable controls for specifying at least one of opacity and softness of a mask for removing blemishes from the identified area.
39 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the blemish removal tool comprises a selectable option for deactivating edge detection.
40 . The method of claim 34 , wherein detecting a set of edges comprises detecting an edge that is curved, and wherein the blemish removal tool is further for reconstructing the curve of the edge.
41 . The method of claim 34 , wherein said blemish removal tool IS further for determining whether the two edges meet at a curve or an angle.
42 . The method of claim 34 , wherein removing said blemishes comprises:
replacing the colors by blurring the identified area; automatically selecting a texture source area; and blending the identified area with a texture from said texture source area.
43 . A graphical user interface (“GUI”) of a device, said GUI comprising:
a display area for displaying an image; and
a blemish removal tool for removing blemishes from the image by receiving an identification of an area of said image with said blemish removal tool and initiating the detection of a set of edges within the area in order to remove any blemishes from said area while constructing a line connecting the detected set of edges.
44 . The GUI of claim 43 , wherein the blemish removal tool comprises an adjustable control for specifying the size of the area of said image that is to be identified for blemish removal.
