Abstract

A utensil rest includes a main body having a first sidewall and a second sidewall. The first sidewall and the second sidewall are connected and define an edge of the main body. At least one of the first sidewall and the second sidewall have at least one utensil receiving portion formed therein. The at least one utensil receiving portion is configured to receive a utensil.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A utensil rest, comprising:
 a main body having a first sidewall and a second sidewall, the first sidewall and the second sidewall connected and defining an upper edge of the main body, at least one of the first sidewall and the second sidewall having at least one utensil receiving portion formed therein and configured to support a utensil,   wherein the first sidewall and the second sidewall are connected by a base wall having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion connected to a base of the first sidewall and the second portion connected to a base of the second sidewall, the first portion and the second portion connected by a clasp, the base wall stabilizing and maintaining the utensil rest in an upright position when supporting the utensil.   
     
     
         2 . The utensil rest of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one utensil receiving portion is defined by an at least one aperture formed in the upper edge. 
     
     
         3 . The utensil rest of  claim 2 , wherein the at least one aperture includes a first aperture, a second aperture, and a third aperture spaced apart along the upper edge of the main body. 
     
     
         4 . The utensil rest of  claim 3 , wherein each of the first aperture, the second aperture, and the third aperture has substantially a same aperture length. 
     
     
         5 . The utensil rest of  claim 2 , wherein the at least one aperture is one of substantially oval, substantially circular, substantially square, substantially rectangular, and substantially diamond-shaped in shape. 
     
     
         6 . The utensil rest of  claim 5 , wherein the at least one aperture is substantially oval in shape. 
     
     
         7 . The utensil rest of  claim 1 , wherein the utensil rest is foldable between a flat position when unclasped and a tent position when clasped, the utensil rest in the flat position not configured to support the utensil and the utensil rest in the tent position configured to support the utensil. 
     
     
         8 . The utensil rest of  claim 1 , wherein the clasp includes a slot and a tab, the slot formed in the first portion of the base wall and the tab formed in the second portion of the base wall, the slot receiving the tab. 
     
     
         9 . A utensil rest, comprising:
 a main body having a first sidewall and a second sidewall, the first sidewall and the second sidewall connected and defining an upper edge of the main body, at least one of the first sidewall and the second sidewall having at least one utensil receiving portion formed therein and configured to support a utensil,   wherein the first sidewall and the second sidewall are connected by a base wall having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion connected to a base of the first sidewall and the second portion connected to a base of the second sidewall, the first portion and the second portion connected by a clasp, the base wall stabilizing and maintaining the utensil rest in an upright position when supporting the utensil,   wherein the clasp includes a slot and a tab, the slot formed in the first portion of the base wall and the tab formed in the second portion of the base wall, the slot receiving the tab,   wherein the at least one aperture includes a first aperture, a second aperture, and a third aperture spaced apart along the upper edge of the main body, and   wherein the utensil rest is foldable between a flat position when unclasped and a tent position when clasped, the utensil rest in the flat position not configured to support the utensil and the utensil rest in the tent position configured to support the utensil.
