Abstract
Methods, compositions and devices utilizing stinging cells/capsules for conditioning a tissue prior to delivery of a pharmaceutical agent are described.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one stinging capsule/cell and an orientation and proximity agent selected for:
(i) positioning at least one stinging capsules/cells in intimate proximity with a tissue; and (ii) orientating said at least one stinging capsule/cell such that the opening tip of said stinging capsule substantially faces said tissue.
2 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said stinging cell forms a part of a tentacle, a filament or an acontia.
3 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said orientation and proximity agent is selected from the group consisting of a negatively charged agent, an adhesive agent and an amphoteric agent.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said orientation and proximity agent is selected from the group consisting of an anionic polymer, polyacrylic acid (PAA), a poly saccharine, alginic Acid, Na alginate, gelatin, hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, carboxy methyl cellulose, gum karaya, gum tragacanth, poly ethylene oxide, poly vinyl alcohol, starch, starch, carbomer, lectin, invasion and bacterial fimbrin.
5 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said at least one stinging capsule/cell is in a topical formulation selected from the group consisting of a gel, a cream, an ointment, a paste, a lotion, a milk, a suspension, an aerosol, a spray, a foam and a serum.
6 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said at least one stinging capsule/cell is preloaded with an active substance or is in a composition which comprises said active substance.
7 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 6 , wherein said at least one stinging capsule/cell is devoid of said active substance.
8 . A device for delivery of an active agent, the device comprising:
(i) a first compartment comprising at least one stinging cell/capsule; and (ii) a second compartment comprising an active agent.
9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein said first and said second compartments are arranged as partitioned layers in the device.
10 . The device of claim 8 , further comprising:
(iii) a void color indicator.
11 . The device of claim 8 , wherein said at least one stinging capsule/cell is provided in a composition which further comprises an orientation and proximity agent selected for:
(i) positioning said at least one stinging capsule/cell in intimate proximity with said tissue; and (ii) orientating said at least one stinging capsule/cell such that opening tip of said stinging capsule substantially faces away from said tissue.
12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein said orientation and proximity agent is selected from the group consisting of a negatively charged agent, an adhesive agent and an amphoteric agent.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein said orientation and proximity agent is selected from the group consisting of an anionic polymer, polyacrylic acid (PAA), a poly saccharine, alginic Acid, Na alginate, gelatin, hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, carboxy methyl cellulose, gum karaya, gum tragacanth, poly ethylene oxide, poly vinyl alcohol, starch, starch, carbomer, lectin, invasion and bacterial fimbrin.
14 . The device of claim 8 , wherein said at least one stinging capsule/cell is preloaded with an active substance or is in a composition which comprises said active substance.
15 . The device of claim 14 , wherein said agent and said substance are identical.
16 . The device of claim 14 , wherein said agent and said substance are non-identical.
17 . The device of claim 8 , wherein said delivery is immediate delivery or delayed delivery.Cited by (0)
