Abstract
Systems and methods for efficiently transmitting information over a wireless network segment are provided herein. An exemplary method may include separating, via a transmitter, digital fronthaul data into general information and radio signal information, transmitting the general information over the wireless network segment from the transmitter to a receiver on a first communications channel, and transmitting the radio signal information over the wireless network segment from the transmitter to the receiver on a second communications channel.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 23 . (canceled)
24 . A network device, comprising:
a processor; and a memory for storing executable instructions, the processor executing the instructions to:
separate digital fronthaul data into general information and radio signal information;
transmit the general information over a wireless network segment on a first communications channel; and
transmit the radio signal information over the wireless network segment on a second communications channel.
25 . The network device according to claim 24 wherein the radio signal information is a representation of a signal in analog format and the general information is in a digital format.
26 . The network device according to claim 25 wherein the general information is transmitted over a wireless segment in a digital format.
27 . The network device according to claim 25 , wherein the network device comprises a demultiplexer that demultiplexes radio signal information into carrier images.
28 . The network device according to claim 27 , wherein the radio signal information is transmitted in an analog format.
29 . The network device according to claim 27 , wherein the general information is processed before being transmitted in digital format.
30 . The network device according to claim 26 , wherein the radio signal information is processed before being transmitted in an analog format.
31 . The network device according to claim 28 wherein processing comprises adapting the radio carriers according to the Radio Access Technology.
32 . The network device according to claim 24 , wherein the network device comprises either a baseband unit (BBU) communicatively or a radio frequency unit (RFU).
33 . The network device according to claim 24 , wherein the processor further executes the instructions to:
receive the general information over a wireless network segment on a third communications channel; receive the radio signal information over the wireless network segment on a fourth communications channel; and recombine the general information and the radio signal information into the digital fronthaul data.
34 . The network device according to claim 33 , wherein the radio signal information is received as carrier images, the network device further comprising a multiplexer that multiplexes carrier images into the radio signal information.
35 . A network device, comprising:
a processor; and a memory for storing executable instructions, the processor executing the instructions to:
separate digital fronthaul data into general information and radio signal information;
transmit the general information over a wireless network segment on a first communications channel;
transmit the radio signal information over the wireless network segment on a second communications channel;
receive separated general information from a second network device; receive separated radio signal information from the second network device; and recombine the separated general information and the separated radio signal information into the digital fronthaul data.
36 . A system, comprising:
a first network device, comprising:
a processor; and
a memory for storing executable instructions, the processor executing the instructions to:
separate digital fronthaul data into general information and radio signal information;
transmit the general information over a wireless network segment on a first communications channel;
transmit the radio signal information over the wireless network segment on a second communications channel;
a second network device, comprising:
a processor; and
a memory for storing executable instructions, the processor executing the instructions to:
receive separated general information from the first network device;
receive separated radio signal information from the first network device; and
recombine the separated general information and the separated radio signal information into the digital fronthaul data.
37 . The system according to claim 36 , wherein the first network device comprises a demultiplexer that demultiplexes radio signal information into carrier images.
38 . The system according to claim 36 , wherein the radio signal information is received as carrier images, the second network device further comprising a multiplexer that multiplexes carrier images into the radio signal information.
39 . A network device, comprising:
a processor; and a memory for storing executable instructions, the processor executing the instructions to: receive general information over a wireless network segment on a first communications channel; receive radio signal information over the wireless network segment on a second communications channel, the general information and radio signal information having been separated from a digital fronthaul data; and recombine the general information and the radio signal information to recreate the digital fronthaul data.
40 . The network device according to claim 39 , wherein the radio signal information is received as carrier images, the network device further comprising a multiplexer that multiplexes carrier images into the radio signal information.Cited by (0)
