Abstract

A rectal balloon apparatus has a shaft with a fluid passageway extending therethrough. A balloon is affixed over an end of the shaft such that the fluid passageway communicates with an interior of the balloon. The balloon has a laterally flat surface thereon when inflated. The laterally flat surface of the balloon has a longitudinal groove formed thereon. The balloon having a pair of bulges formed thereon when the balloon is inflated. A ring is affixed to the shaft adjacent the balloon. The shaft has a plurality of holes formed thereon opening to an interior of the balloon.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 20 . (canceled)

         21 . A medical balloon device, comprising:
 a) a first layer including a first edge; b) a second layer including a second edge joined to the first edge to form a bottom inflatable portion between the first and second layer; c) a third layer including a third edge joined to the second edge to form a top inflatable portion between the second and third layer, in fluid communication with the bottom inflatable portion; and d) said bottom inflatable portion being adapted to receive an inflation fluid and said top inflatable portion being adapted to form a shape wherein the second and third layers are secured intermediate said second and third edges so that the distal portion of the third layer bulges upwardly, relative to the proximal portion, upon inflation.

         22 . A medical balloon device, comprising:
 a) a first layer including a first edge; b) a second layer including a second edge joined to the first edge to form a bottom inflatable portion between the first and second layer; c) a third layer including a third edge joined to the second edge to form a top inflatable portion between the second and third layer, in fluid communication with the bottom inflatable portion; and d) said bottom inflatable portion being adapted to receive an inflation fluid and said top inflatable portion being adapted to form a shape wherein the top inflatable compartment is adapted to distend to form a bulged conformation of the distal portion of the third layer relative to the proximal portion upon inflation.

         23 . A medical balloon device, comprising:
 a) a first layer including a first edge; b) a second layer including a second edge joined to the first edge to form a bottom inflatable portion between the first and second layer; c) a third layer including a third edge joined to the second edge to form a top inflatable portion between the second and third layer, in fluid communication with the bottom inflatable portion; and d) said bottom inflatable portion being adapted to receive an inflation fluid and said top inflatable portion being adapted to form a shape wherein the second and third layers are secured at an intermediate portion so that said third layer upon inflation bulges upwardly, relative to the proximal portion, between the intermediate portion and the third edge at the distal portion of the third layer.
