Abstract
Systems and methods are provided to facilitate a transaction between a seller and a buyer. According to one embodiment, seller offer information is received at a controller. The seller offer information is associated with an item, such as a secondary market item, being offered for sale by a seller. Buyer offer information, associated with a buyer offering to make a purchase, is also received. An evaluation rule is determined, and the seller offer information and the buyer offer information are matched based on the evaluation rule. It is then arranged for the seller to sell the item to the buyer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A consumer-to-consumer transaction method, comprising:
receiving, by a processing device, buyer information indicative of a product desired to be purchased by a first consumer, wherein the buyer information is indicative of a desired category and a desired quality score of the desired product; determining, by the processing device, seller information indicative of a plurality of products offered for sale by a plurality of second consumers, wherein the seller information is indicative of a category and a quality score for each product of the plurality of products; determining, by the processing device and based on the desired category and quality score, that no match between the desired product and one of the plurality of products offered for sale by a corresponding one of the second consumers from the plurality of second consumers can be made; determining, by the processing device, at least one of the desired category and the desired quality score that cannot be matched with the seller information; and transmitting, by the processing device and to at least one of (i) the first consumer and (ii) at least one consumer of the plurality of second consumers, a suggestion describing an adjustment to the determined unmatched at least one of the category and the quality score.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
offering, by the processing device, an incentive for an adjustment of the determined unmatched at least one of the category and the quality score.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the buyer information is further indicative of a buyer price.
4 . The method of claim 3 , further comprising:
determining, by the processing device, that the buyer price is within a predetermined range; and providing, by the processing device and in response to the determining that the buyer price is within the predetermined range, a benefit to the first consumer.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the benefit comprises a free warranty.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the seller information is further indicative of a plurality of seller prices.
7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising:
determining, by the processing device, that a subset of the seller prices are within a predetermined range; and providing, by the processing device and in response to the determining that the subset of seller prices are within the predetermined range, a benefit to a corresponding subset of the plurality of second consumers.
8 . A system, comprising:
a processing device; and a memory device in communication with the processing device, the memory device storing instructions that when executed by the processing device result in: receiving buyer information indicative of a product desired to be purchased by a first consumer, wherein the buyer information is indicative of a desired category and a desired quality score of the desired product; determining seller information indicative of a plurality of products offered for sale by a plurality of second consumers, wherein the seller information is indicative of a category and a quality score for each product of the plurality of products; determining, and based on the desired category and quality score, that no match between the desired product and one of the plurality of products offered for sale by a corresponding one of the second consumers from the plurality of second consumers can be made; determining at least one of the desired category and the desired quality score that cannot be matched with the seller information; and transmitting, to at least one of (i) the first consumer and (ii) at least one consumer of the plurality of second consumers, a suggestion describing an adjustment to the determined unmatched at least one of the category and the quality score.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing device, further result in:
offering an incentive for an adjustment of the determined unmatched at least one of the category and the quality score.
10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the buyer information is further indicative of a buyer price.
11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing device, further result in:
determining that the buyer price is within a predetermined range; and providing, in response to the determining that the buyer price is within the predetermined range, a benefit to the first consumer.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the benefit comprises a free warranty.
13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the seller information is further indicative of a plurality of seller prices.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing device, further result in:
determining that a subset of the seller prices are within a predetermined range; and providing, in response to the determining that the subset of seller prices are within the predetermined range, a benefit to a corresponding subset of the plurality of second consumers.
15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that when executed by a processing device result in:
receiving buyer information indicative of a product desired to be purchased by a first consumer, wherein the buyer information is indicative of a desired category and a desired quality score of the desired product; determining seller information indicative of a plurality of products offered for sale by a plurality of second consumers, wherein the seller information is indicative of a category and a quality score for each product of the plurality of products; determining, based on the desired category and quality score, a match between the desired product and one of the plurality of products offered for sale by a corresponding one of the second consumers from the plurality of second consumers; determining, based on the desired category and quality score, that no match between the desired product and one of the plurality of products offered for sale by a corresponding one of the second consumers from the plurality of second consumers can be made; determining at least one of the desired category and the desired quality score that cannot be matched with the seller information; and transmitting, to at least one of (i) the first consumer and (ii) at least one consumer of the plurality of second consumers, a suggestion describing an adjustment to the determined unmatched at least one of the category and the quality score.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing device, further result in:
offering an incentive for an adjustment of the determined unmatched at least one of the category and the quality score.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the buyer information is further indicative of a buyer price.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing device, further result in:
determining that the buyer price is within a predetermined range; and providing, in response to the determining that the buyer price is within the predetermined range, a benefit to the first consumer.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the benefit comprises a free warranty.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the seller information is further indicative of a plurality of seller prices.
21 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 20 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the processing device, further result in:
determining that a subset of the seller prices are within a predetermined range; and providing, in response to the determining that the subset of seller prices are within the predetermined range, a benefit to a corresponding subset of the plurality of second consumers.Cited by (0)
