Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A pet treat comprising:
a rotatable, lickable spherical portion; and a support having an internal cavity shaped to conform to the outside of the spherical portion, and wherein the spherical portion is freely rotatable within the support.

2 . The pet treat of claim 1 , wherein the lickable spherical portion is comestible.

3 . The pet treat of claim 1 , comprising:
a spherical shell received within the internal cavity of the support, and wherein the spherical shell has an opening to expose the spherical portion.

4 . The pet treat of claim 1 , comprising:
a removable, replaceable cover, which surrounds and encloses the spherical portion.

5 . The pet treat of claim 1 , comprising:
a palatant material for rejuvenating the spherical portion.

         6 . A pet treat comprising:
a substantially solid and hard, comestible portion; an inedible support, to which the comestible portion is attached; and a removable, replaceable cover configured to mate with the support, and wherein the cover surrounds and encloses the comestible portion.

7 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the comestible portion is spherical, and the support includes an internal cavity shaped to conform to the outside of the spherical comestible portion so that the comestible portion can freely rotate.

8 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the inedible support includes an internal cavity shaped to conform to the outside of the spherical comestible portion so that the comestible portion can freely rotate.

9 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the support includes a cylindrical housing.

10 . The pet treat of claim 9 , wherein the cylindrical housing includes an inner cavity configured to contain a powdered palatant material for rejuvenating the comestible portion.

11 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the substantially solid and hard, comestible portion, includes a sugar base and a flavorant.

12 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the removable, replaceable cover includes a sleeve-like connection.

13 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the comestible portion is attachable to the support via a cap having a thread portion configured to mate with a threaded portion of the support.

14 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the comestible portion includes a generally spherical portion.

15 . The pet treat of claim 6 , wherein the comestible portion comprises a sugar base including 40 to 60% sugar, 30 to 50% dry digest and a flavorant selected from the group consisting of meat, fish, and poultry.

16 . A method of delivering a pet treat, the method comprising:
providing a rotatable, lickable spherical portion on a support, the support having an internal cavity shaped to conform to the outside of the spherical portion; and rejuvenating the spherical portion with a palatant material.

         17 . The method of claim 16 , comprising:
housing the palatant within an inner cavity of the support.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the palatant is a powdered palatant material.
