Abstract

Injectable collagen based graft compositions and grafts formed from the compositions for tissue regeneration. The compositions and grafts further include a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) to control matrix formation and remodeling.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An injectable graft composition for tissue regeneration comprising collagen from a mammalian tissue source, said collagen further comprising an exogenously added glycosaminoglycan (GAG), said GAG comprising at least 0.1% by weight of said composition, said GAG comprising chondronitin sulfate B and hyaluronic acid, said GAG being linked to said collagen, wherein, when said composition is administered to damaged tissue, said GAG modulates fibril size, orientation and deposition of said collagen, and wherein said composition induces and controls wound healing.

2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said collagen comprises a collagen selected from the group consisting of collagen types I, III, IV, V and VI.

3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition further comprises an exogenously added cytokine.
