. The fabric of claim 1 , wherein the fabric has a thickness ranging from 0.04 to 0.09 inches.

. The fabric of claim 1 , wherein the fabric has a thickness ranging from 0.01 to 0.05 inches.

. The fabric of claim 1 , wherein the non-woven, needlepunched substrate has a basis weight ranging from 2.0 to 5.0 ounces per square yard.

. The fabric of claim 1 , wherein the non-woven, needlepunched substrate has a basis weight ranging from 3.0 to 8.0 ounces per square yard.

. The fabric of claim 1 , wherein the cellulosic fibers comprise cotton, rayon and/or lyocell fibers.

. The fabric of claim 1 , wherein the cellulosic fibers comprise rayon fibers.

. The fabric of claim 1 , wherein the cellulosic fibers comprise lyocell fibers.

. A protective garment constructed from the fabric claimed in claim 1 .

. The protective garment of claim 14 , wherein the protective garment is chosen from fire retardant suits, fire retardant gloves and welding suits.

. An article of furniture constructed from the fabric claimed in claim 1 .

. The article of furniture of claim 16 , wherein the article of furniture is chosen from mattresses, chairs, sofas, and seats.
