Abstract
A method of paying a merchant for a transaction associated with a program. The method including the steps of receiving a request from a merchant for a payment associated with a purchase, generating a payment identifier, generating a payment number having a predetermined limit amount and a predetermined expiration date, associating the payment identifier with the payment number and transmitting the payment number to the merchant for payment of the request.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . One or more non-transitory tangible computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions for performing a method by running a software program on a computer, the computer operating under an operating system, the method including issuing instructions from the software program comprising the steps of:
setting a load amount for an authorized program payment; receiving a first transaction identifier for the authorized program payment, the first transaction identifier including a payment identifier and a payment card number; receiving a second transaction identifier and a payment transaction amount; matching the second transaction identifier to the first transaction identifier; comparing the payment transaction amount and the load amount; responsive to the payment transaction amount deviating from the load amount, automatically generating a payment variance notification; and transmitting the payment variance notification to a program administrator.
2 . The computer-readable media of claim 1 , further comprising the step of responsive to the payment transaction amount being equal to the load amount, transmitting a payment authorization to a merchant, the payment authorization including the payment card number and the payment transaction amount.
3 . The computer-readable media of claim 1 , further comprising the steps of responsive to detecting multiple payment transactions against the load amount, automatically generating a multiple charge attempt notification and transmitting the multiple charge attempt notification to the program administrator.
4 . The computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the payment variance notification is transmitted via email or fax.
5 . The computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the payment variance notification includes information selected from the group consisting of the load amount, the payment transaction amount, a client identification, a transaction type, a payor identification, a type of payment requested, a payee identification, a requester name, a claim number, a standard industry code, a merchant category code, and a combination thereof.
6 . The computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the second transaction identifier is received from a financial institution computer.
7 . One or more non-transitory tangible computer-readable media having computer-executable instructions for performing a method by running a software program on a computer, the computer operating under an operating system, the method including issuing instructions from the software program comprising the steps of:
setting a first set of transaction parameters for an authorized program payment, the first set of transaction parameters selected from the group consisting of a load amount, a payment expiration date, a merchant category code, a standard industry code, a settlement amount, a refund amount, and a combination thereof receiving a first transaction identifier for the authorized program payment, the first transaction identifier including a payment identifier and a payment card number; receiving a second transaction identifier and a second set of transactional parameters; matching the second transaction identifier to the first transaction identifier; comparing the set of transactional parameters and the second set of transactional parameters; responsive to finding a deviation between the first and the second sets of transactional parameters, automatically generating a notification; and transmitting the notification to a program administrator.
8 . The computer-readable media of claim 7 , further comprising the step of responsive to the second set of transactional parameters matching the first set of transactional parameters, transmitting a payment authorization to a merchant, the payment authorization including the payment card number and the load amount.
9 . The computer-readable media of claim 7 , further comprising the step of responsive to detecting multiple payment transactions against the load amount, automatically generating a multiple charge attempt notification and transmitting the multiple charge attempt notification to the program administrator.
10 . The computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein the notification is transmitted via email or fax.
11 . The computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein the notification includes information selected from the group consisting of the payment expiration date, the merchant category code, the standard industry code, the settlement amount, the refund amount, the load amount, a client identification, a transaction type, a payor identification, a type of payment requested, a payee identification, a requester name, a claim number, and a combination thereof.
12 . The computer-readable media of claim 7 , wherein the second transaction identifier and the second set of transactional parameters are received from a financial institution computer.Cited by (0)
