Included are embodiments of an infusion set for administering a liquid. One embodiment includes an infusion head to be placed on the tissue of a patient, a coupler for connecting the infusion head to an administering device, and a cannula that is configured for connection to the infusion head. Some embodiments include a display device for displaying an application period of at least a portion of the liquid administered using the infusion set.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An infusion set for administering a liquid to a patient, comprising:
an infusion head placeable on tissue of the patient; a coupler that connects the infusion head to an administering device; a cannula that connects to the infusion head; and a display device which displays an application period of at least a portion of the liquid administered using the infusion set.
2 . The infusion set of claim 1 , wherein the display device is provided as a sticker designed to mark a particular period of time.
3 . The infusion set of claim 2 , wherein the sticker is transferred when the infusion head is connected to an apparatus which places the infusion head on the tissue.
4 . The infusion set of claim 1 , wherein the display device includes a reusable mechanical display that is releasably connected to the infusion set.
5 . The infusion set of claim 4 , wherein the reusable mechanical display is releasably connected to the infusion set via at least two parts which are moveable relative to each other and releasably connected in a desired position.
6 . The infusion set of claim 1 , wherein the display device includes an electronic display.
7 . The infusion set of claim 6 , wherein the electronic display includes a passive electronic indicator.
8 . A method for recording an expiry date related to a liquid to be administered to a patient, said method comprising:
receiving the expiry date by an infusion set; and displaying the expiry date using a display device of the infusion set, the infusion set including:
an infusion head placeable on tissue of the patient;
a coupler that connects the infusion head to an administering device;
a cannula that connects to the infusion head; and
the display device.
9 . The infusion set of claim 8 , further comprising marking a particular period of time with a sticker of the display device.
10 . The infusion set of claim 9 , further comprising transferring the sticker when the infusion head is connected to an apparatus which places the infusion head on the tissue.
11 . The infusion set of claim 8 , further comprising releasably connecting the display device to the infusion set, the display device comprising a reusable mechanical display.
12 . The infusion set of claim 11 further comprising connecting the mechanical display to the infusion set via at least two parts which are moveable relative to each other and releasably connected in a desired position.
13 . The infusion set of claim 8 , further comprising electronically displaying the expiry date with an electronic display of the display device.
14 . The infusion set of claim 13 , further comprising displaying the expiry date with a passive electronic indicator of the electronic display.
15 . A method for recording an expiry date related to a liquid to be administered to a patient, said method comprising:
providing an infusion set for administering a liquid to a patient, comprising:
an infusion head placeable on tissue of the patient;
a coupler that connects the infusion head to an administering device;
a cannula that connects to the infusion head;
a display device which displays an application period of at least a portion of the liquid administered using the infusion set; and
an apparatus for placing the infusion head on the tissue and transferring relevant information onto the display device; and
receiving the expiry date by the infusion set; and displaying the expiry date using the display device of the infusion set, the infusion set.Cited by (0)
