Abstract

Systems and methods for providing message communication among multiple communication gateways. In particular, systems and methods for providing non-voice message delivery to intended recipients with increased speed and reliability to multiple users on multiple platforms. The systems and methods relate to non-voice messaging to multiple messaging gateways. In at least one embodiment, the systems and methods include Internet based electronic messaging using a messaging subsystem configured to optimize text message delivery to communication gateways.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A communication method comprising:
registering a plurality of users for receiving messages; determining, in response to receiving a first message from at least one alert originator, one or more user terminals to receive a second message corresponding to the received first message, each of the one or more user terminals being associated with at least one registered user; converting the first message to gateway messages, wherein the first message is converted to a first gateway message having a first format and to a second gateway message having a second format that is different from the first format; and transferring each gateway message of the gateway messages to corresponding communication gateways for distribution of the second message by the communication gateways to the at least one registered user associated with at least one message group, wherein transferring of each gateway message is performed using a non-voice channel, wherein a first communication gateway of the communication gateways is configured to accept the first gateway message having the first format and to perform operations in response to the first gateway message, wherein a second communication gateway of the communication gateways is configured to accept the second gateway message having the second format and to perform operations in response to the second gateway message, and wherein converting the first message comprises forming a respective address for each of the gateway messages to include respective domain name information associated with the communication gateways and the user identification information associated with the at least one registered user receiving the second message.

2 . The communication method of claim 1 , wherein registering one or more users further includes categorizing the one or more users as an administrator, a manager, or a non-originating user.

3 . The communication method of claim 2 , wherein an order in which one or more users receive the messages is prioritized by the administrator.

4 . The communication method of claim 2 , wherein registering the one or more users further includes collecting information from the one or more users.

5 . The communication method of claim 4 , further comprising storing the information in a database.

6 . The communication method of claim 5 , wherein the information is usable in assembling a response team in case of an emergency event.

7 . The communication method of claim 1 , further comprising, when a plurality of first messages are received, prioritizing an order in which each first message of the plurality of first messages is transferred to the at least one registered user.

         8 . A communication method comprising:
registering a plurality of users for receiving messages; determining, in response to receiving a first message from at least one alert originator, one or more user terminals to receive a second message corresponding to the received first message, each of the one or more user terminals being associated with at least one registered user; converting the first message to gateway messages, wherein the first message is converted to a first gateway message having a first format and to a second gateway message having a second format that is different from the first format; and transferring each gateway message of the gateway messages to corresponding communication gateways for distribution of the second message by the communication gateways to the at least one registered user associated with at least one message group, wherein transferring of each gateway message is performed using a non-voice channel, wherein a first communication gateway of the communication gateways is configured to accept the first gateway message having the first format and to perform operations in response to the first gateway message, and wherein a second communication gateway of the communication gateways is configured to accept the second gateway message having the second format and to perform operations in response to the second gateway message; and tracking replies from the one or more user terminals, wherein tracking the replies includes receiving a response and identifying a particular destination device that sent the response.

9 . The communication method of claim 8 , wherein converting the first message comprises forming an address for the first gateway message to include domain name information associated with the first communication gateway and the user identification information associated with a registered user of the at least one registered user receiving the second message

10 . The communication method of claim 8 , wherein registering one or more users further includes categorizing the one or more users as an administrator, a manager, or a non-originating user.

11 . The communication method of claim 8 , wherein an order in which one or more users receive the messages is prioritized by the administrator.

12 . The communication method of claim 8 , wherein tracking the replies further includes correlating the response with the first message.

13 . The communication method of claim 8 , further comprising providing a response log having information indicating a particular user terminal that replied to the second message.

14 . The communication method of claim 13 , wherein the information of the response log further indicates a second user terminal that did not reply to an alert message and a third user terminal that rejected the alert message.

15 . The communication method of claim 8 , wherein tracking the replies includes determining whether response forwarding is requested by a sender of the first message.

16 . The communication method of claim 15 , wherein, in response to determining that the response forwarding is requested, forwarding a response from the one or more user terminals to a specified destination.
