Abstract

A disk dresser and a dressing method enable high-precision dressing of a drum-shaped gear-like grindstone and shaping of the cutting teeth of the grindstone without changing the shape of the cutting teeth of the disk dresser. A drum-shaped gear-like grindstone is brought into linear contact with a workpiece so as to link with the contours of the tooth right angle cross-section orthogonal to the twist direction of the workpiece teeth. The grindstone and a disk dresser, in an engaged state, are caused to rotate synchronously, thereby causing the drum-shaped grindstone to be dressed by the disk dresser. The disk dresser blade shape is made to match the tooth right angle cross-section shape of the teeth of the ground workpiece. The grindstone and the disk dresser are caused to move and revolve in accordance with the drum shape and the angle of twist of the grindstone.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An hourglass gear-shaped grinding-wheel dressing method of dressing an hourglass gear-shaped grinding wheel with a disk dresser formed in a circular disk shape, by synchronously rotating the gear-shaped grinding wheel and the disk dresser in mesh with each other, the gear-shaped grinding wheel being configured to grind a helical gear by coming into line contact with the helical gear in such a way as to connect contours of normal planes of teeth of the helical gear, the normal planes being perpendicular to a helical direction of the teeth, characterised in that the hourglass gear-shaped grinding-wheel dressing method comprises:
matching an edge profile of the disk dresser with a profile of the normal plane of each of the teeth of the helical gear after grinding; moving the gear-shaped grinding wheel and the disk dresser relative to each other in directions of three perpendicular axes in accordance with a hourglass shape and a helix angle of the gear-shaped grinding wheel; turning the disk dresser about a dresser turn axis to a predetermined turn angle in accordance with the helix angle of the gear-shaped grinding wheel and positioning the disk dresser at the predetermined turn angle, the dresser turn axis perpendicularly crossing a dresser rotation axis of the disk dresser; and turning the disk dresser about a gear rotation axis of the helical gear.

2 . An hourglass gear-shaped grinding-wheel dressing method of dressing an hourglass gear-shaped grinding wheel with a disk dresser formed in a circular disk shape, by synchronously rotating the gear-shaped grinding wheel and the disk dresser in mesh with each other, the gear-shaped grinding wheel being configured to grind a helical gear by coming into line contact with the helical gear in such a way as to connect contours of normal planes of teeth of the helical gear, the normal planes being perpendicular to a helical direction of the teeth, characterized in that the hourglass gear-shaped grinding-wheel dressing method comprises:
matching an edge profile of the disk dresser with a profile of the normal plane of each of the teeth of the helical gear after grinding; moving the gear-shaped grinding wheel and the disk dresser relative to each other in directions of three perpendicular axes in accordance with a hourglass shape and a helix angle of the gear-shaped grinding wheel; and turning the disk dresser about a dresser turn axis in accordance with the helix angle of the gear-shaped grinding wheel, the dresser turn, axis perpendicularly crossing a dresser rotation axis of the disk dresser.

3 . A disk dresser formed in a circular disk shape and being capable of dressing an hourglass gear-shaped grinding wheel configured to grind a helical gear by coming into line contact with the helical gear in such a way as to connect contours of normal planes of teeth of the helical gear, the normal planes being perpendicular to a helical direction of the teeth, characterized in that an edge profile of the disk dresser is matched with a profile of the normal plane of each of the teeth of the helical gear after grinding.
