Modular Pulse Jet Fabric Filter
Abstract
A modular design for large pulse jet fabric filters (PJFF) is divided into similar compartments, which are each “shop-fabricated” in quarter sections prior to delivery to the power plant site. The quarter sections of the compartments are modular and sized so that they can be fabricated at a shop located away from the power plant site and transported by truck over public roads to the power plant site. Once delivered to the site, the quarter sections are bolted together and seal welded to form a PJFF compartment, without requiring additional internal fabrication or welding. The assembled compartment is then lifted onto the support structure as an assembled unit and bolted and/or welded in place. The additional components of the PJFF may also be shop-fabricated offsite to further the benefits of the modular design.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 18 . (canceled)
19 . A modular component for a pulse jet fabric filter (PJFF) comprising:
a first rectangular wall section having a top, a bottom and sides; a second rectangular wall section having a top, a bottom and sides, wherein the first and second wall sections are connected together at a side thereof to form a corner; a first hopper section connected to the bottom of the first rectangular wall; and a second hopper section connected to the bottom of the second rectangular wall; wherein each of the first and second hopper sections are trapezoidal in shape and are angled inward and connected together along one side to form a corner adjacent the corner formed by the first and second rectangular wall sections; wherein the side of each of the first and second hopper sections opposite the corner forms a right angle with each of the adjacent sides of the hopper section such that the side of the rectangular wall section opposite the corner and the side of the hopper section opposite the corner form a planar outer edge.
20 . The modular component of claim 19 , wherein the rectangular wall sections and hopper sections are connected together by welding.
21 . The modular component of claim 19 , wherein the width of the first rectangular wall section and the width of the second rectangular wall section are the same.
22 . The modular component of claim 19 , wherein the width of the first rectangular wall section and the width of the second rectangular wall section are different.
23 . The modular component of claim 19 , wherein the modular component is road transportable.
24 . A compartment for a pulse jet fabric filter (PJFF) comprising four modular components as set forth in claim 19 , wherein each of the modular components is connected to an adjacent modular component along the outer edge thereof such that the wall sections form a compartment and the hopper sections form a hopper connected to the bottom of the compartment.
25 . The compartment of claim 24 , wherein the modular components are connected together by welding.
26 . A pulse jet fabric filter (PJFF) comprising a plurality of compartments as set forth in claim 24 connected together in a row.
27 . A pulse jet fabric filter (PJFF) comprising:
plurality of compartments as set forth in claim 24 connected together in first a row; plurality of compartments as set forth in claim 24 connected together in a second row; wherein the first row is spaced apart from the second row to form an air transport aisle.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
