Abstract

The present specification discloses compositions comprising a plurality of therapeutic compound having antitussive activity and methods and uses for treating a coughing condition with such compositions.

1 . A liquid composition comprising Theobromine, peppermint oil, and an ascorbic acid. 
     
     
         2 . The liquid composition according to  claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a sweetening agent.

         14 . The method according to  claim 13 , wherein the composition comprises about 0.5 mg/mL to about 6 mg/mL of Theobromine and about 0.1 mg/mL to about 5 mg/mL of peppermint oil. 
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 14 , wherein the composition comprises about 1 mg/mL to about 3 mg/mL of Theobromine and about 0.5 mg/mL to about 3 mg/mL of peppermint oil. 
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 15 , wherein the composition comprises about 2 mg/mL of Theobromine and about 1.0 mg/mL of peppermint oil. 
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 9 , wherein the therapeutically-effective amount of the composition comprises between about 20 mg/day and about 200 mg/day of Theobromine and about 10 mg/day and about 150 mg/day of peppermint oil. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 9 , wherein the therapeutically-effective amount of the composition comprises between about 40 mg/day and about 160 mg/day of Theobromine and about 30 mg/day and about 120 mg/day of peppermint oil. 
     
     
         19 . A liquid composition comprising Theobromine, peppermint oil, ascorbic acid, and a sweetening agent. 
     
     
         20 . A liquid composition comprising Theobromine, peppermint oil, ascorbic acid, a sweetening agent and at least two physiological substance.
