Eyeglass and other personal items holder
Abstract
A holder for securing glasses or other personal item that is securely incorporated into an article of clothing or accessory at the time of manufacture. The holder includes a base member inserted into or attached to the article or accessory or to a trim which is itself attached to an article or accessory. A hanger is connected to the base member and includes a loop connected to a support base. One or more openings can be provided on the base member. The support base and base member can be integrally formed. The support base can be formed from part of the article or accessory or trim. The holder allows a wearer to insert a piece of a pair of glasses, or a part of another item, through the loop and allows the item to assume a secure and relatively flat position. It may include an RFID tag and/or a cover.

1 . A holder for supporting a personal item comprising:
a base member adapted to be inserted into or attached to an article of clothing or an accessory or to a trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory, the base member having at least one opening for securement of the base member with the article of clothing or the accessory or to the trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory; a hanger connected to the base member, the hanger comprising a loop received in a support base, the loop being adapted to support the personal item thereon, wherein the base member and support base are integrally formed.
2 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein the base member has two or four openings for securement of the base member with the article of clothing or the accessory or to the trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory.
3 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein the base member is woven or sewn to the article of clothing or accessory or to the trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory.
4 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein the base member is adapted to be inserted into or attached to a handbag.
5 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein the support base includes a through hole for receipt of the loop therein.
6 . The holder of claim 5 , wherein an axis of the at least one opening of the base member is parallel with an axis of the through hole of the support base for receiving the loop are in a substantially parallel configuration.
7 . The holder of claim 5 , wherein an axis of the at least one opening of the base member is parallel with an axis of the through hole of the support base for receiving the loop are in a substantially perpendicular configuration.
8 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein the loop is configured to flex relative to the base member, or vice versa.
9 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein a front face of the base member is spaced relative to a front face of the loop.
10 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein the support base angles the base member away from the loop.
11 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein an opening or groove separates the base member and the loop, and wherein the loop, support base, and base member are integrally formed.
12 . The holder of claim 1 , wherein the loop has a releasable connection moveable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the releasable connection enables insertion of a part of the personal item in the open position and securement of the personal item within in the loop in the closed position.
13 . A holder for supporting a personal item comprising:
a base member adapted to be inserted into or attached to an article of clothing or an accessory, the base member having two openings for securement of the base member with the article of clothing or the accessory or to a trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory; a hanger connected to the base member, the hanger comprising a loop received in a support base, the loop being adapted to support the personal item thereon, wherein the support base is formed from a part of the article of clothing or a part of the accessory or part of the trim of which the base member is inserted into or attached to, and wherein the support base is inserted through a third opening of the base member.
14 . The holder of claim 13 , wherein the base member is woven or sewn to the article of clothing or accessory or to the trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory.
15 . The holder of claim 13 , wherein the base member is adapted to be inserted into or attached to a handbag.
16 . The holder of claim 13 , wherein the support base forms a through hole for receipt of the loop therein.
17 . The holder of claim 13 , wherein the loop has a releasable connection moveable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the releasable connection enables insertion of a part of the personal item in the open position and securement of the personal item within in the loop in the closed position.
18 . A method of manufacturing a holder for supporting a personal item comprising a base member with at least one opening and a hanger connected to the base member, the hanger comprising a loop received in a support base, the loop being adapted to support the personal item thereon; the method comprising:
affixing the base member into or on an article of clothing or an accessory or to a trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory using the at least one opening during manufacture of the article of clothing or the accessory such that the loop is adapted to support a personal item thereon.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the base member has two or four openings, and wherein the affixing the base member comprises using the two or four openings to affix of the base member with the article of clothing or the accessory or the trim.
20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein affixing the base member comprises weaving or sewing the base member to the article of clothing or the accessory or to the trim.
21 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the affixing the base member into or on the article of clothing or the accessory comprises affixing the base member into or on a handbag.
22 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising inserting the support base through the base member.
23 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the support base comprises an open end for receiving the loop, and wherein the method further comprises:
aligning and inserting the loop into the support base via the open end, and capturing the loop within the support base by securing the open end around the loop.
24 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the support base comprises a through hole for receiving the loop, wherein the loop comprises a ring with an opening for later closing by pushing open ends of the ring together, and wherein the method further comprises:
inserting an open end of the ring through the through hole of the support base, and closing the opening of the ring to form the loop by pushing open ends of the ring together.

The holder of claim 24 , wherein the aligning and inserting of the loop into the support base comprises moving the loop into the open end of the support base in a relatively perpendicular manner relative to an axis of the at least one opening of the base member, and wherein the captured loop is provided in a plane that is substantially parallel to the axis of the at least one opening of the base member.

The holder of claim 24 , the aligning and inserting of the loop into the support base comprises moving the loop into the open end of the support base in a relatively parallel manner relative to an axis of the at least one opening of the base member, and wherein the captured loop is provided in a plane that is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the at least one opening of the base member.
27 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the affixing the base member comprises flexing the loop relative to the base member, or vice versa.
28 . An article of clothing or an accessory comprising a holder for supporting a personal item, the holder comprising:
a base member adapted to be inserted into or attached to an article of clothing or an accessory or to a trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory and a hanger connected to the base member, the base member having at least one opening for securement of the base member with the article of clothing or the accessory or the trim; the hanger comprising a loop received in a support base, the loop being adapted to support the personal item thereon, and wherein the article of clothing or the accessory or the trim is capable of supporting a weight of the personal item hanging from the holder with the base member inserted into the article of clothing or the accessory or the trim, and wherein the base member and support base are integrally formed.
29 . The article of claim 28 , wherein the base member has two or four openings for securement of the base member with the article of clothing or the accessory or to the trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory.
30 . The article of claim 28 , wherein the base member is adapted to be inserted into or attached to a handbag.
31 . The article of claim 28 , wherein the loop is configured to flex relative to the base member, or vice versa.
32 . The article of claim 28 , wherein a front face of the base member is spaced relative to a front face of the loop.
33 . The article of claim 28 , wherein the support base angles the base member away from the loop.

36 . An article of clothing or an accessory or a trim comprising a holder for supporting a personal item, the holder comprising:
a base member adapted to be inserted into or attached to an article of clothing or an accessory or the trim, the base member having two openings for securement of the base member with the article of clothing or the accessory or the trim; a hanger connected to the base member, the hanger comprising a loop received in a support base, the loop being adapted to support the personal item thereon, wherein the support base is formed from a part of the article of clothing or a part of the accessory or part of the trim of which the base member is inserted into or attached to, and wherein the support base is inserted through a third opening of the base member.
37 . The article of claim 36 , wherein the base member is woven or sewn to the article of clothing or accessory or to the trim which is itself attached to an article of clothing or accessory.
38 . The article of claim 36 , wherein the base member is adapted to be inserted into or attached to a handbag.
39 . The article of claim 36 , wherein the support base forms a through hole for receipt of the loop therein.
