Fitting system for a golf club

Abstract

A method relating to an improved fitting system for finding the best performing golf club for a specific golfer. More specifically, the present invention utilizes a highly efficient method of using specific data gathered from the golfer's golf swing to quickly and efficiently fit a golfer into the best performing product for him or her.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of fitting a golfer comprising:
 determining a preferred shaft flex for said golfer;   determining a preferred shaft mass for said golfer;   determining a preferred head weight for said golfer;   determining a preferred club length for said golfer;   determining a preferred grip weighting placement for said golfer; and   providing a golf club having said preferred shaft flex, said preferred shaft mass, said preferred head weight, said preferred club length, and said preferred grip weighting placement,   wherein said step of determining said preferred shaft mass is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots within shafts of different mass within said preferred shaft flex.   
     
     
         2 . The method of fitting a golfer of  claim 1 , wherein said step of determining a preferred head weight is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots with golf clubs of different head weight. 
     
     
         3 . The method of fitting a golfer of  claim 2 , wherein said step of determining a preferred club length is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots with golf clubs of different lengths. 
     
     
         4 . The method of fitting a golfer of  claim 3 , wherein said step of determining a preferred grip weighting placement is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots with golf clubs having different grip weighting placement locations. 
     
     
         5 . The method of fitting a golfer of  claim 4 , wherein said method requires said golfer to swing said golf club less than 30 times. 
     
     
         6 . A method of creating a golf club comprising:
 determining a preferred shaft flex for said golfer;   determining a preferred shaft mass for said golfer;   determining a preferred head weight for said golfer;   determining a preferred club length for said golfer;   determining a preferred grip weighting placement for said golfer; and   creating said golf club having of said preferred shaft flex, said preferred shaft mass, said preferred head weight, said preferred club length, and said preferred grip weighting placement.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein said step of determining a preferred grip weighting placement is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots with golf clubs having different grip weighting placement locations. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , said step of determining said preferred shaft mass is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots within shafts of different mass within said preferred shaft flex. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein said step of determining a preferred head weight is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots with golf clubs of different head weight. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein said step of determining a preferred club length is accomplished by allowing said golfer to hit a plurality of two or more golf shots with golf clubs of different lengths.
