Abstract
A non-stick coating composition for use in applying to a substrate, the coating composition including at least one fluorocarbon resin, at least one acrylic resin, and inorganic particles with an average particle size between 15 and 20 μm, and water. The coating, composition may be provided as a topcoat composition used in combination with a basecoat and a midcoat.

5 . A non-stick coating composition for use in applying to a substrate, comprising:
at least one fluorocarbon resin; at least one acrylic resin; 3-10 wt. % of inorganic particles; and water.
6 . The coating composition of claim 5 , comprising 50-65 wt. % of said at least one fluorocarbon resin.
7 . The coating composition of claim 5 , comprising 5-15 wt. % of said at least one acrylic resin.

9 . The coating composition of claim 5 , wherein said inorganic particles include at least one type of inorganic particle selected from the group consisting of alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, titanium carbide, aluminum boride, and cristobalite.
10 . The coating composition of claim 9 , wherein said inorganic particles are silicon carbide.
11 . The coating composition of claim 10 , wherein said silicon carbide particles have a Mohs hardness of at least 5.
12 . The coating composition of claim 5 , further comprising at least one solvent.
13 . The coating composition of claim 5 , further comprising at least one pigment.
14 . The coating composition of claim 5 , wherein said at least one fluorocarbon resin comprises at least one resin selected from the group consisting of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene (FEP), tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymers (PFA), and ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymers (ETFE).
15 . The coating composition of claim 5 , wherein said coating composition is a topcoat composition, said topcoat composition in combination with:
a basecoat composition, comprising:
at least one fluorocarbon resin;
at least one binder resin; and
inorganic particles with an average particle size between 5 and 15 μm; and
a midcoat composition, comprising:
at least one fluorocarbon resin;
at least one acrylic resin.
16 . The coating composition of claim 6 , wherein said at least one fluorocarbon resin comprises polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymers (PFA).
