17 . A memory for storing data for access by an application program being executed on a data processing system, comprising:
a data structure stored in the memory, the data structure including information resident in a database used by the application program and including:
a first data object associated with attributes related to at least one individual, the at least one individual being identified by a first unique key;
a second data object associated with attributes related to at least one event, the at least one event being identified by a second unique key; and
a first association between the first unique key and the second unique key, the first association linking the first data object and the second data object such that a query associated with the at least one individual results in the identification of the first association.
18 . The memory of claim 17 , wherein the data structure further includes:
a third data object associated with attributes related to at least one item, the at least one item being identified by a third unique key; and a second association between the third unique key and at least one of the first unique key and the second unique key, the second association linking the third data object and at least one of the first data object and the second data object such that a query associated with the at least one of the at least one individual and the at least one event results in the identification of the second association.
19 . The memory of claim 18 , wherein the data structure further includes:
a fourth data object associated with attributes related to at least one organization, the at least one organization being identified by a fourth unique key; and a third association between the fourth unique key and at least one of the first unique key, the second unique key, and the third unique key, the third association linking the fourth data object and at least one of the first data object, the second data object, and the third data object such that a query associated with the at least one of the at least one individual, the at least one event, and the at least one item results in the identification of the third association.
20 . A data processing system executing an application program and containing a database used by said application program, said data processing system comprising:
processing means for processing said application program; and memory means for holding a data structure for access by said application program, said data structure being composed of information resident in said database used by said application program and including:
a first data object associated with attributes related to at least one individual, the at least one individual being identified by a first unique key;
a second data object associated with attributes related to at least one item, the at least one event being identified by a second unique key; and
a first association between the first unique key and the second unique key, the first association linking the first data object and the second data object such that a query associated with the at least one individual results in the identification of the first association.
21 . A computer system comprising:
a processor; computer readable medium coupled to the processor; and computer code, encoded in the computer readable medium, configured to cause the processor to identify risk by virtue of causing the processor to:
store data associated with an individual in a data structure, wherein the data structure is arranged in a data structure format, the data structure format being defined by a first data object associated with the individual and a plurality of other data objects associated with risk, and the data structure occupying a memory space; and
associate the first data object with at least one of the plurality of other data objects, based at least in part on information associated with an item.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the item includes at least one of (i) an article, (ii) a news broadcast, (iii) a website, (iv) a commercial information source, and (v) a governmental information source.
23 . A risk identification data structure in a computer readable medium for identifying risk information, comprising:
a plurality of risk identification tables configured to store information associated with risk, each of the risk identification tables including:
an index field corresponding to a key risk segment;
at least one attribute field associated with an attribute of the key risk segment; and
at least one association field representing at least one relationship between the key risk segment and another key risk segment.
24 . The data structure of claim 23 , wherein the plurality of risk identification tables includes:
