Integrated cloud service brokerage (csb) platform functionality modules
Abstract
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium has tangibly embodied thereon and accessible therefrom instructions interpretable by at least one data processing device. The instructions are configured for causing the at least one data processing device to perform a method comprising a plurality of operations. An operation of determining a plurality of cloud service offerings available for fulfilling cloud service resource requirements of a cloud service solution is performed. An operation of computing a standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings is performed. An operation of assessing the standardized resource capacity parameter of at least two of the cloud service offerings to characterize an ability thereof to fulfill the cloud service resource requirements of the cloud service solution is performed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having tangibly embodied thereon and accessible therefrom instructions interpretable by at least one data processing device, the instructions are configured for causing the at least one data processing device to perform a method comprising:
determining a plurality of cloud service offerings available for fulfilling cloud service resource requirements of a cloud service solution; computing a standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offering; and assessing the standardized resource capacity parameter of at least two of the cloud service offerings to characterize an ability thereof to fulfill the cloud service resource requirements of the cloud service solution.
2 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein determining the plurality of cloud service offerings includes selecting the cloud service offerings from a plurality of available cloud service offerings dependent upon the cloud service resource requirements of the cloud service solution.
3 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings quantitatively characterizes an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof.
4 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings is computed using a common set of cloud service offering factors to determine an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof.
5 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein computing the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings includes computing an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof.
6 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 5 wherein the generic unit of information technology capacity is based on at least two of processor speed, memory, storage, and bandwidth.
7 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 5 wherein computing the amount of the generic unit of information technology capacity for each one of the cloud service offerings is performed using a common set of cloud service offering factors.
8 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1 wherein assessing the standardized resource capacity parameter includes ranking the standardized resource capacity parameter of a first one of the cloud service providers with the standardized resource capacity parameter of a second one of the cloud service offerings.
9 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having tangibly embodied thereon and accessible therefrom instructions interpretable by at least one data processing device, the instructions are configured for causing the at least one data processing device to perform a method comprising:
computing a standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of a plurality of cloud service offerings available for fulfilling cloud service resource requirements of a cloud service solution, wherein computing the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings includes computing an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof and wherein the generic unit of information technology capacity is computed as a function of processor speed, memory, storage, and bandwidth; and assessing the standardized resource capacity parameter of at least two of the cloud service offerings to characterize an ability thereof to fulfill the cloud service resource requirements of the cloud service solution.
10 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 wherein computing the amount of the generic unit of information technology capacity for each one of the cloud service offerings is performed using a common set of cloud service offering factors.
11 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 wherein assessing the standardized resource capacity parameter includes ranking the standardized resource capacity parameter of a first one of the cloud service providers with the standardized resource capacity parameter of a second one of the cloud service offerings.
12 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 wherein the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings quantitatively characterizes an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof.
13 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
determining a plurality of cloud service offerings available for fulfilling cloud service resource requirements of a cloud service solution; computing a standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offering; and assessing the standardized resource capacity parameter of at least two of the cloud service offerings to characterize an ability thereof to fulfill the cloud service resource requirements of the cloud service solution.
14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 wherein determining the plurality of cloud service offerings includes selecting the cloud service offerings from a plurality of available cloud service offerings dependent upon the cloud service resource requirements of the cloud service solution.
15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 wherein the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings quantitatively characterizes an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof.
16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 wherein the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings is computed using a common set of cloud service offering factors to determine an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof.
17 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 wherein:
computing the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings includes computing an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof;
the generic unit of information technology capacity is based on at least two of processor speed, memory, storage, and bandwidth; and
computing the amount of the generic unit of information technology capacity for each one of the cloud service offerings is performed using a common set of cloud service offering factors.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 wherein assessing the standardized resource capacity parameter includes ranking the standardized resource capacity parameter of a first one of the cloud service providers with the standardized resource capacity parameter of a second one of the cloud service offerings.
19 . The computer-implemented method of claim 18 wherein determining the plurality of cloud service offerings includes selecting the cloud service offerings from a plurality of available cloud service offerings dependent upon the cloud service resource requirements of the cloud service solution.
20 . The computer-implemented method of claim 19 wherein:
computing the amount of the generic unit of information technology capacity for each one of the cloud service offerings is performed using a common set of cloud service offering factors; and
the standardized resource capacity parameter for each one of the cloud service offerings quantitatively characterizes an amount of a generic unit of information technology capacity thereof.Cited by (0)
