Abstract

The present invention is directed to a higher power, thin film lithium-ion electrolyte on a metallic substrate, enabling mass-produced solid-state lithium batteries. High-temperature thermodynamic equilibrium processing enables co-firing of oxides and base metals, providing a means to integrate the crystalline, lithium-stable, fast lithium-ion conductor lanthanum lithium tantalate (La 1/3-x Li 3x TaO 3 ) directly with a thin metal foil current collector appropriate for a lithium-free solid-state battery.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

         1 . A solid-state lithium battery comprising:
a metallic anode current collector layer, a perovskite lanthanum lithium tantalate electrolyte layer on the metallic anode current collector layer, a cathode layer on the electrolyte layer, and a cathode current collector layer on the cathode layer.

2 . The solid-state lithium battery of claim 1 , further comprising a lithium metal or lithium titanate anode layer between the electrolyte layer and the metallic anode current collector layer.

3 . The solid-state lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the metallic anode current collector layer comprises copper or nickel.

4 . The solid-state lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the metallic anode current collector layer comprises a metal foil.

5 . The solid-state lithium battery of claim 1 , wherein the perovskite lanthanium lithium tantalate comprises La 1/3-x Li 3x TaO 3 .
