Abstract
The invention pertains to systems and methods for providing content to a device including receiving an identifier for each of at least one device that should receive the content; determining a device type for each of the at least one device that should receive the content; determining device parameters for each of the at least one device that should receive the content based on the determined device type; tailoring the content for each of the at least one device that should receive the content based on the determined device parameters; and providing the tailored content to each of the at least one device that should receive the content.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 15 . (canceled)
16 . A method for providing content to a device comprising:
receiving an identifier for a device that should receive the content; determining a device type for the device that should receive the content based on the corresponding identifier, wherein the determining comprises:
delivering a message to the device via an SMS channel of a carrier network on which the device operates, wherein the message includes a link from which the content can be retrieved by the device, wherein the link directs the device outside of the carrier network on which the device operates, and
determining the device type of the device when the device attempts to fetch the content via the link; and
providing the content to the device based on the device type.
17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising storing the identifier for the device together with the device type.
18 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising tailoring the content based on the device type.
19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein delivering a message to the device via an SMS channel comprises delivering the message to an MMS client on the device.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein delivering the message to an MMS client on the device comprises sending an MMS notification with a payload over the SMS channel, where the payload includes a uniform resource locator not associated with the carrier on which the device operates.
21 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising determining device parameters for the device based on the determined device type.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein determining device parameters for the device based on the determined device type comprises retrieving the device type from a local device database, an external device database, or published specifications for the device type.
23 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising tailoring the content based on the device parameters.
24 . The method of claim 23 , wherein tailoring the content based on the determined device parameters comprises optimizing the content for the device based on the determined device parameters.
25 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising determining a carrier on which the device operates.
26 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the device type includes a make or a model of the device.
27 . The method of claim 16 , wherein delivering a message to the device via an SMS channel of a carrier network on which the device operates comprises delivering a binary message.Cited by (0)
