Method and apparatus for changing screen in electronic device

Abstract

A method and an apparatus for changing a screen in an electronic device that provides a plurality of windows are provided. The method includes providing, by an electronic device, a plurality of windows functionally connected to the electronic device, selecting at least one window displaying a first application among the plurality of windows, obtaining an input related to a second application being executed in the selected at least one window, and displaying the second application through the at least one window, based on the obtained input. The present disclosure is not limited to a specific embodiment, but various embodiments based on a technical spirit of the present disclosure may be implemented.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 providing, by an electronic device, a plurality of windows functionally connected to the electronic device;   selecting at least one window displaying a first application among the plurality of windows;   obtaining an input related to a second application being executed in the selected at least one window; and   displaying the second application through the at least one window, based on the obtained input.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the selecting of the at least one window comprises:
 obtaining a user input to select the at least one window.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the obtaining of the input related to a second application comprises:
 displaying a selection menu to select the second application through the at least one window.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the obtaining of the input related to a second application comprises:
 displaying application information related to the second application.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the displaying of the application information comprises:
 displaying the application information through the at least one window.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the displaying of the application information comprises:
 displaying at least one of a thumbnail image related to the second application, an icon, or a text as the application information.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the providing of the plurality of windows comprises:
 providing each of the plurality of windows through a plurality of display screens functionally connected to the electronic device.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the selecting of the at least one window comprises:
 displaying application information related to a plurality of applications executed in the electronic device;   selecting at least part of the application information; and   selecting a window in which an application related to the selected at least part of the application information is executed as the at least one window.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the plurality of windows comprises a first window and a second window, and
 wherein the selecting of the at least part of the application information comprises displaying a first selection menu related to the first window and a second selection menu related to the second window, when the application related to the selected at least part of the application information is executed in both the first window and the second window.   
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the selecting of the at least part of the application information comprises:
 selecting the first window as the at least one window when selecting the first selection menu, and   selecting the second window as the at least one window when selecting the second selection menu.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the displaying of the first selection menu and the second selection menu comprises:
 displaying differently at least one of a color, an identification code, or a location of the first selection menu and the second selection menu.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the displaying of the first selection menu and the second selection menu comprises:
 determining a location displaying the first selection menu based on a location of the first window, and   determining a location displaying the second selection menu based on a location of the second window.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the obtaining of the input related to a second application comprises:
 selecting an application related to the selected at least part of the application information as the second application.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the selecting of the at least one window comprises:
 displaying the at least one window to be visually distinguished from other window.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the displaying of the second application through the at least one window comprises:
 displaying the second application through a window of the at least one window for which a display of an application was least recently switched.   
     
     
         16 . An electronic device comprising:
 a display unit configured to include a plurality of windows; and   a controller configured to select at least one window displaying a first application among the plurality of windows, and to obtain an input related to a second application being executed in the selected at least one window,   wherein the controller controls the display unit to display the second application through the at least one window, based on the input.   
     
     
         17 . The electronic device of  claim 16 , wherein the controller controls to display the plurality of windows through a different area of the display unit. 
     
     
         18 . The electronic device of  claim 16 , wherein the controller controls to display at least part of the plurality of windows to be overlapped. 
     
     
         19 . The electronic device of  claim 16 , wherein the controller controls to display application information related to the second application through the at least one window. 
     
     
         20 . The electronic device of  claim 16 , wherein the plurality of windows comprises a first window and a second window, and the controller selects at least one application among a plurality of applications executed in the plurality of windows, and selects at least one window among the first window and the second window, based on the execution of the at least one application on the first window and the second window. 
     
     
         21 . A non-transitory computer readable medium containing program instructions for causing a computer to perform the method of:
 providing, by an electronic device, a plurality of windows functionally connected to the electronic device;   selecting at least one window displaying a first application among the plurality of windows;   displaying application information related to a second application executed in the selected at least one window through the at least one window;   obtaining an user input related to the application information; and   displaying the second application through the at least one window, based on the obtained user input.
