Abstract
An agricultural field sprayer having a boom that can be mounted on a tractive unit such as a tractor is described. The boom is composed of plural sections that are pivotal relative to each other and is adapted to be pivoted from a transport position into a working position and/or back to the transport position. Components of the boom are made from fiber-reinforced composite.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A field sprayer comprising a boom composed of plural sections pivoting relative to each other, the boom being adapted to be pivoted from a transport position into a working position and/or back to the transport position, wherein the entire boom can be movably mounted on a tractive unit such as a tractor, characterized in that at least plural components of the boom are made from fiber-reinforced composite.
2 . The field sprayer according to claim 1 , characterized in that the components of the boom adopting a load-bearing function are made from fiber-reinforced composite.
3 . The field sprayer according to claim 1 , characterized in that on both sides of a central section two or three successively arranged extension sections are arranged via interposed joints to be projecting from the latter and are arranged to be pivoting in the direction of the central section.
4 . The field sprayer according to claim 3 , characterized in that the extension sections (provided on one side of the central section are arranged to be pivoting toward the central section in the same first pivoting direction and/or the other extension sections provided on the other side of the central section can be pivoted in a second pivoting direction opposed to the first pivoting direction.
5 . The field sprayer according to claim 4 , characterized in that the joints are arranged and configured so that they allow only maximum swiveling of the extension sections into the same plane in which the central portion is present.
6 . The field sprayer according to claim 5 , characterized in that the extension sections are arranged in the transport position in two imaginary planes extending in parallel to each other which are orientated orthogonally to the auxiliary plane through the central section.
7 . The field sprayer according to claim 1 , characterized in that the sections have a full-surface design and/or the outsides of which are configured as planar shells hermetically sealing the space provided there between.
8 . A system comprising a tractor and the field sprayer according to claim 1 , characterized in that in the working position a central section of the boom is arranged to rest on a stop face mounted on the tractor.
9 . A method for pivoting a boom composed of plural sections made of fiber-reinforced composite, wherein the boom is pivoted out of a horizontally orientated working position first completely into a vertical intermediate position and, after that, the individual extension sections projecting from a central section are pivoted in the direction of the central section into a transport position.Cited by (0)
