Abstract
A computer-implemented method for identifying a route that is configured to travel through multiple points of interest includes receiving a query that includes an origin location, a destination location, and at least a first point of interest and a second point of interest. The method also includes identifying a perimeter that surrounds the received origin and destination locations in response to the query. The perimeter is then used to identify a set of locations for each of the first and second points of interest.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
identifying a first route comprising an origin, a destination, and a first plurality of locations selected by a user corresponding to multiple points of interest, the first route associated with a first travel commitment; identifying an alternate route comprising the origin, the destination, and a second plurality of locations corresponding to the multiple points of interest, the alternative route associated with a second travel commitment; determining that the first travel commitment exceeds the second travel commitment by more than a threshold value; and based on determining that the first travel commitment exceeds the second travel commitment by more than the threshold value, providing the alternate route to the user.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the multiple points of interest represent multiple types of locations.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the multiple points of interest represent multiple types of locations selected by the user.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the multiple points of interest comprises a brand of location.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing the first route and the alternate route together on a graphical user interface.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing, to the user, an option to select the first route or the alternate route.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, from the user, a selection of the first route or the alternate route; and providing the selected route to the user on a graphical user interface.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the first route comprises identifying a previously identified route selected by the user.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of locations comprises at least one location in common with the first plurality of locations.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of locations comprises no locations in common with the first plurality of locations.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the second plurality of locations are located within a predefined perimeter surrounding the first route.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first travel commitment and the second travel commitment are each associated with a travel time.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first travel commitment and the second travel commitment are each associated with a travel distance.
14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the first travel commitment and the second travel commitment are associated with a combination of travel time and travel distance.
15 . A system comprising:
at least one processor; and at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions thereon that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:
identify a first route comprising an origin, a destination, and a first plurality of locations selected by a user corresponding to multiple points of interest, the first route associated with a first travel commitment;
identify an alternate route comprising the origin, the destination, and a second plurality of locations corresponding to the multiple points of interest, the alternative route associated with a second travel commitment;
determine that the first travel commitment exceeds the second travel commitment by more than a threshold value; and
based on determining that the first travel commitment exceeds the second travel commitment by more than the threshold value, providing the alternate route to the user.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the multiple points of interest represent multiple types of locations.
17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to provide the first route and the alternate route together on a graphical user interface.
18 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to provide, to the user, an option to select the first route or the alternate route.
19 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to:
receive, from the user, a selection of the first route or the alternate route; and provide the selected route to the user on a graphical user interface.
20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein each of the first travel commitment and the second travel commitment are associated with a travel time or a travel distance.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
